The powerups are almost pointless. Since items scroll off to the left just as fast as you can move left, any enemy you kill on the left side of the screen drops unusable powerups (this is an issue, since enemies do spawn on the left). The time it takes to get back down to the ground after a jump means even a drop on the right side is a crap shoot to pickup.

Some things to add: The electro gun is far too powerful. Once you've unlocked that (which can be done almost straight away) the game is simply a chore
the speed which you run to the left / items go off screen needs increasing/decreasing
the frequency of pickups needs increasing too
Overall it's 3/5 but with some small changes it could be a 4/5. It'd require a lot more content / polish for it to be worthy of 5/5.
