ESC to pause, click to create a cell (you might not seem to create if its unpaused because they die immediately).
I to zoom in and O to zoom out.

take some inspiriation of what your interface should be able to do:
start, stop and some way to influence the speed. maybe even add a way to drop some special configurations. without zoom, its hard to properly fill in the cells. it also starts to lag after some iterations. nethertheless, good job for a start :)
