We can't break into his apartment? Why not? We've stolen things, we've lied to people, we've gotten security guards drunk, we've stolen a guy's prescription sleep medicine, we've broken into people's safes, so why can't we break into a suspect's apartment? We can already go to jail on so many different charges, why not add a home invasion?

It's an interesting fact by the way that the word written on the Golem's head is "EMETH", Hebrew for "Truth". You don't need to erase the whole word - just remove the first letter, Aleph, leaving "METH", which means "dead". The Golem will instantly die. You never know when this info might come in handy!
