storing gold seems like the dumbest idea you can make, shouldn't it give interest instead of 1% daily tax? The events while traveling become insignificant quickly.

It says I leveled up, but I don't see any changes. Can I buy a bigger cart to carry more items or move faster? Are there new items to be traded?
