what are drops from enemies for???

The game to me seems to be a rather half-assed attempt. No walking, no jumping and the guy can only aim at certain points, not even wherever the mouse is, not even always the closest one.

The guy just keeps rolling. Can't the character walk or run, or jump maybr?
