Interesting concept.
It's a bit hard to get nice hands as in order to catch the ball you sometimes need to cross the path of a card you don't want. Perhaps the cards should fall faster? Or the ball should move slower? It might be nice to have multiple difficulty choices related to this.
Also, in these kinds of games I tend to leave the playing area with my mouse, which in this case freezes my controls...

I enjoyed the concept of the game but it seems a bit too hard to get the high-scoring hands. As previously mentioned, we're sometimes forced to pick up cards when moving to hit the ball. Missing the ball 'folds'. As is, it seems the only way to get a good scoring hand is to firstly be insanely lucky.
Maybe implement a button that - when held - prevents the paddle from picking up cards? Or maybe change the system so that 2 hits make a card 'clickable'. Clicking it would add it to our hand. A 3rd hit would then simply eliminate the card.
Having bonuses fall is fine since they seem to be beneficial.
Since you've thought of this cool twist, let us properly interact with new strategies generated by the poker element!

Good twist with some potential, unfortunately the failure to incorporate any of the many gameplay orientated innovations arkanoid has seen results in a very dull game. Play some modern clones to see how lacking the game is in certain areas, from paddle and ball physics to creative powerups. Could also use some modification to punish overly conservative gameplay racking up the multipliers.

Great, original concept. However 1)Allow control of paddle even when mouse cursor leaves game window area 2)Slow down the ball just a bit 3)Reduce hit area for picking up cards.

Great concept. The reflection angle programming could use a major overhaul. 3/5
