Break the Bricks

one or two bricks were solid the rest the ball just passed through as it destroyed them, stage 1 finishes when just over half bricks are destroyed, stage 2 doesn't end but as a brick is off the side of the scren maybe more are further off scren where the ball can't reach. The ball can redirect down after hitting the paddle sending it bouncing off the bottom of the screen

how do i lose when the ball hits my paddle?

The game was fun up until level 2, where I cleared all the bricks, and the ball kept moving. There's no end to level 2?
