I was really disappointed that i couldn't break any of the locked doors with my axe ;)
Violence is not a solution ;) Thanks for playing!

Interesting game. Not my preferred genre, so I might be the minority when I say leave in the spade! (And it's a shame there's no sound for me). I'd also preferred a written, progressive (i.e. few direct spoilers) walkthru rather than some video one :/
Hey, thanks for playing, especially since it is not your prefered type of game. I do not intend to completely erase the spade, just make it not pickable, but maybe I should put the fate of the spade to vote ;) Your idea about the walkthrough makes sense. In this way at least you see the visual result of the solution in the game only, not first on video. Not sure, however, how many people would like that.

I enjoyed this, nice mysterious and slightly creepy atmosphere. Yes, the navigation could be more straightforward; IMO "go back where I came from" should always be down. But there aren't very many rooms, so it is not too big of a deal. The one place I needed help was with the metal plaque on the altar. I didn't realize that those four little dots around it (the rivets) were separate objects.
I am glad you enjoyed the game. Thank you for playing and for your comment. Perhaps mentioning the four rivets when you touch the plaque is not a bad idea.

Some tips for players:
* Get your key back from each key lock
* The face with the metal tube is high up. What can you use to get high up?
* The metal plaque that can be firmly fastened? Yeah, that can be removed with the right tool.
For the maker: The subject matter is novel for PnC games, so props. I really like the concept of the major puzzle, but I didn't like the execution. I couldn't see the connection, likely in part because I didn't remember where I got the four emblems. I ended up seeing the solution in the walk through. The final room is weird (which is fair), but that means players don't have any intuition of what to do. Why should we have known that we can or should cut the orb?
Finally, a few minor points: any reason we need three oils rather than just one? I didn't see the dead guyโs item; please make the item more visible. I don't get why removing a fingernail unlatches the trident but sure.
Thank you for playing and for your comments. I guess I do not have to warn about the SPOILERS here. There are three hints about the four elements puzzle, two in the scriptorium, and one on the manuscript your are carrying around since the start of the game. The orb has IMO one distinct hint in the stone tablet that is covering the keyhole, before you draw the sword (and a few more subtle ones). See the difference before and after. One of the mosaics tells you that you must balance the scales. With the oils I wanted to achieve the progression of eye opening, and hint at the length of the tunnel. The fingernail is in fact a metal nail that holds the trident in place (hence the hole in the finger). Though I admit this is IMO the weakest puzzle of the game.

(Continuing earlier note.) !! WARNING: SPOILERS !!
4. I tried to pick up the half orb with the shovel, which still seems to me to be a perfectly good choice. I never thought of trying to pick it up the way you wanted us to, especially once I was annoyed that the shovel didn't work. 5. Dumping the oil, since I had already tried that before it was ready for me to. If the action that made it ready caused a pipe to appear below it, that would have made it more reasonable, IMHO. I give the suggestions, but I should clarify that I really liked the game. It was a refreshing change from the usual P and C that are churned out by the dozen and are so repetitive. I loved the mood, the art, the feel of it, and the logic of the puzzles.
Hey, I am glad you enjoyed the game. What you are talking about it's exactly what I am trying to do: a PnC game that is different from what is now the mainstream in the genre. And thank you for highlighting the problematic puzzles for you. WARNING SPOILERS! Regarding the oil puzzle: a section of the wall containing the oilduct does come forward, when you turn the wheel below. The hungry snake turns upward, so you are able to feed it ;)
