Somewhat Familiar

I'd recommend adding lives, or a reset each time you miss the ball. There's no incentive to move the paddle when it'll just keep playing anyways

Also you might want to add an end of the game screen (at least), also powerups...arkanoid/breakout style if you are going to make this type of game

Make sure you add direction changes depending on what side of the paddle the ball hits.
