Actions from Kongregate on Facebook

Just as News Feed has always enabled you to share the actions you take on Facebook with your friends, you now have the option to share many of the actions you take on the rest of the web as well.

Facebook is now affiliated with a variety of websites, including Kongregate, all of whom can, with your permission, send the actions you take on their sites back into Facebook. These actions will appear in your Mini-Feed and may appear in the News Feeds of your friends.

Please keep in mind that affiliate websites like Kongregate never have access to your profile information, nor does Facebook receive any personal data about you from an affiliate site. To learn more, please visit Facebook’s FAQ.

The Basics

The actions you take on Kongregate might be interesting to your friends. Kongregate will only publish stories about:

  • * Playing games
  • * Earning High Scores

Kongregate will always notify you before sending a story to Facebook. When you are notified, you can opt-out of that story by clicking “No, thanks.”

Privacy

As usual, you have complete control over your information and who sees it. If you do not want Kongregate to publish a story for you, it's easy to opt-out. Kongregate will generate stories about your actions when you visit them only if you are logged in to Facebook at the same time. You will always be notified when Kongregate wants to publish a story about you. If you take an action on Kongregate and you don't see the little notification pop up, that means there is no story being generated. If you do see this notification, you can opt out of having that particular story published by clicking "No, thanks".

Additionally, when you return to Facebook after Kongregate generates a story, you will have one more opportunity to remove that story before it gets published. You also have the option to specify whether you want Kongregate to always publish stories, notify you before publishing stories, or never publish stories for you. As always, Facebook gives you full control of your information. You can edit your Facebook privacy at any time from the Privacy Settings for External Websites page. Please keep in mind that affiliate websites like Kongregate never have access to your profile information, nor does Facebook receive any personal data about you from an affiliate site. To learn more, please visit Facebook’s FAQ.

If you prefer that Kongregate never send any actions to Facebook at all, you can control this on notifications settings page here. Note that you will need to be logged into Kongregate for this setting to take effect.
