Theresa Chien

Creative Director since Feb. 2007

Theresa is an Interface Designer and currently leads Creative Direction for Kongregate.com. She firmly believes in the balance between form and function in design and is dedicated in building standards compliant XHTML/CSS in all of her projects.

After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley with a Linguistics degree, she quickly realized that she was having more fun creating websites as side projects and joined Altrue, a website and hosting company for nonprofits. After a couple years leading projects and building custom sites for Altrue's clients, she moved onto Gump's, where she met Emily Greer, one of Kongregate's founders. After spending a year managing Gump's new website, Theresa made the easy decision to join Emily at her new company, seeing Kongregate's great potential as a truly innovative and addicting games website.

Now in her Creative Director role at Kongregate, she oversees all aspects of design on the site, including conceptualizing and designing Kongregate's new features, improving user interaction, hand-coding clean XHTML/CSS, and creating test samples for A/B split testing for new and existing site features.

Theresa also freelances on the side, her most recent project re-designing a resurrected online magazine that her college friends started years ago.

In her spare time, she enjoys running around with her dog Cooper, eating brunch on a sunny day, playing softball with her "championship" co-ed team, and traveling.
