I think that invalid selection should overwrite the previous allocated letter. It is a newer guess. Or a toggle for this, or having to click twice.

Invalid selection means that the selected letter was already selected before. You can not select the same letter again.

Another friendly recommendation: Please allow undoing of guesses. It would be helpful to allow changing back from a letter to the initial symbol when a mistake is made.
I totally agree with you. I will try to implement this in the next release.

Also, I think we could skip clicking the select button after selecting a letter; we already selected it.
We have already selected it, but we may change our mind and select another letter and submit.

I would recommend not breaking up words. There were a couple spots where I thought two words were actually one.
Thank you for your recommendation. I was also considering myself to implement this change in the next release.
