Just started learning actionscript today (knew other languages before) and this is my first game. 136 lines of actionscript, nothing in the library. A good start I think, was pretty fun.

Oh also, I've found a way to get the computer stuck in an infinite loop. Unfortunately I moved the paddle accidentally and can't get a screenshot or replicate it without too much effort from my lazy bum :P

Needs some simple mechanics to improve user experience like an opening page with a start button. And options for muting sounds, etc. This could turn into a quality pong experience if you took it farther with multiple levels of difficulty and adding a player score. Then maybe take away the computer players score and just give the user limited lives.

Bad game 2/5, although a great first. Also I think its amazing you did this on 136 LOS, because I dont even think I can do that, without looking in a book. (I am learning ActionScript too). Here is what could improve the game most: 1. A pause button. 2. A reset button. This would make the game alot better. If you PM me, I could explain and give you code examples to get it to work! Also would you share your source, where you learned this AS3 from?
I mostly just learned from googling questions. Like if I wanted to know how to create a text field, I would just google it, and expand from there. Learning bits and pieces and screwing around. It definitely helped that I already know other programming languages though. AS3 is very similar to Javascript. Here is the source, it's probably not coded the best but: http://codepad.org/rsMIRWWX
