Opis

A turn-based tactics game - 3 races wage war over the sacred Star Relic. 3 campaigns, 3 different races, 16 unique units, different skills, and a unique, never seen before tactical mechanic.

Jak grać

Star Relic is a turn-based tactics game where players have to defeat their opponents using different units and skills. The game is played like any other turn-based game - players create units, move them around the board, attack enemy units and so on.

In Star Relic, it's pretty similar - players warp-in their fleets through special units called Warp Gates and the goal is to destroy the enemy's Gate.

But that's not all. The board rotates with every turn clockwise. Since it is made by different layers ('orbits'), the board changes dynamically throughout the game, forcing the players to adapt and analyze how the board will look like in future turns.

The game has 2 modes:

Story Mode - 3 different campaigns (one for each of the game's races), with 9 missions each, 30 different skills and a developing story.
Single Battle - Play against a friend in hotseat or against the CPU.

Love the rotating field. It's challenging in that people who are used to a normal strategy field can be caught unprepared by the enemy yet the same people can also take advantage of it. It's like a naval battle where the sea currents (and wind) are less erratic, since the rotation is easy to understand. The only problem i had in the game is it "froze" in one of my missions, where i can click on the links but can't interact with ships, turn end, gateway and quit button.

@RedDoldandGreen: The manner in which the field rotates was explained during the beginning of the game. Every ring of tiles rotates once per turn in a clockwise manner. Since the inside has less tiles, it turns faster, and the outside slower. It moves in that same manner every turn of every game unless a starcore (sodinar ship) happens to be in play, then that ring of tiles will no longer rotate. Takes some getting used to, but it's pretty simple.

The rotating field of play is, for lack of a better phrase, pure genius. I'd love to see this game expanded with more available units and styles of game play. I don't know if you're familiar with Advanced Wars, but if so, plenty of ideas there. The way this game plays is great, so good work so far.

Very nice. One request: Show me which ships I haven't moved yet this turn.

Not often you see a game with a new gameplay element that actually works. Very impressive work! Yes, it's a bit easy, but I would love to see this expanded into a larger game still.
