Feels like the AI expands much faster after the update. They all got more population than me even when I focus on growth early on.

Correction: Apparently, using a governor to conquer an enemy civilization capital seems to usually result in the former capital quickly revolting against you. This isn't too much of an issue, since the main goal of "remove an enemy civilization from the board" is still accomplished (especially if you changed the city's name while it was in your hands), but it does make conquering enemy territory much less worthwhile.
The only cause for revolt is unhappiness. When you take a new city, it is immune from revolt for 5 minutes which should give you enough time to assign your citizens to keep the city happy enough. And if your empire is too large to be kept happy, maybe it will be easier on next recincarnation ?
Happiness management is one of top priority items on my todo list

I like playing on the lowest difficulty setting: You get to lazily build up your economy through the expansionist/merchant social policies, buying everyone else's friendships (to ensure that they in turn help your new cities by giving you their trade routes).
Then, when you are the only civilization on the map with multiple cities fueling your mass expansion of cities/troops, you slowly start taking over the other civilizations from the bottom of the list up, until eventually it's just you and the Barbarians left.

I'm really enjoying the improvements made by recent updates. In terms of further criticism, it feels like Culture production bonuses are mostly worthless at this point, because unlocking each new social policy through science takes many times longer than producing the culture to buy the upgrade. Likewise, gold production becomes less important in the later game because of the time involved in constructing buildings or training units. The game seems to slow down drastically once you reach the Classical age, where, between research and construction, it can take upwards of 15 hours to achieve a flat +5 bonus to production or the like.

Would it be possible to queue up routes for your scout so you can manually scout more efficiently? Perhaps having a limited amount of distance you can route or something? Also there is a science queue? 0.0

Once you got 7-8 cities it start hurting you to take more cities a lot. Should have more options to increase the happiness with buildings and stuff. It might come later in the game though or with faith.

It would be a great help for people who don't "actively" play to have an option to automatically pause the game on certain events. Maybe this can be implemented, with options for example to pause when a science is finished, a building is finished, the military queue is finished, some resource goes into red (decreasing instead of increasing or being equal), a new villager is created, barbarian attacks incoming, AI attacks incoming, etc.
Maybe an idea for future versions?

ASAEED: depends on how far from your capital, also trade routes are your friend in getting both money while keeping enough people that can entertain.

interesting.... vikings declared war on me (big mistake but thats not whats interesting) in the diplomacy screen I see them being at war with me(correct) but also "friendly" ;-) with friends like that who needs enemies!

I just researched "Tactics" for the first time ever and I've started playing with the Battle Simulator and... this isn't making sense. 100 Warriors vs. 100 warriors results in 54 attackers and 47 defenders surviving, but when I simulate 100 archers vs. 100 archers, it's 9 attackers and 36 defenders surviving. No defensive buildings. How does this work? Why aren't the numbers equal on each side? A detailed step-by-step example battle would help, here, please.

science queue has a tendency to put some dependents before their dependencies. (some times resulting in a science in the middle of the chain being the first to be researched, never mind the fact that 3 other sciences are needed to unlock it.)

Building troops to save money is a great tactic early on. Just restarted and went for trade early which boost your gold a lot.

There should be an option to change Social Policies without having to restart the game. Maybe for a substantial penalty or something.

its almost impossible to maintain a castle far away from the capital .. you can't maintain forces to defend and maintain happiness at the same time !!!

im not sure whats worse, the 10 minute timer for governors, or the fact that to get a population of just 8 people, i need to produce 19.7k food, and with ALL my 7 guys making food, i can only make 16.2 per second because there are no basic upgrades to make the game playable. these disgusting levels of exponential cost growth need to stop.
The point of the game is that it gets slower but with reincarnations and powers, you can make it much faster. You can invest in Feathered Serpent for food production for example. I'll see if i can chnge the numbers to make it less unattainable. Thanks for the comment!

idea to make scouts more useful later on, right now you just disband them once the map is known: make it so that if a scout scouts near an incoming attack you get some idea about the strength of that attack

Is there a way to stop the game timer advancing while not logged in? Frustrating to get ahead before bed, only to see Rome with 8 cities (from 1) next door to me when I wake up.

one significant bug i hit: any features unlocked by science, other than new buildings or military units, only seem to show up to be used after i have completed another science. i.e. complete exploration, no world map, do another science, then see map.

for some reason with the latest build science does not immediately unlock what its supposed to unlock but seems to wait for you to get the next tech first

Have 8 castles (~16hrs. gameplay). In one moment all in game freeze and not moving, except save button:( Also this game is horrebly lagging.

Good job on this game, absolutely love it! After the last update I've had some issues where I sometimes have to refresh the game for the new features such as world map to show up. Also, the science queue doesn't seem to work after reincarnating.

So how exactly does combat work, does 10 warriors against 10 warriors mean everyone dies? What does ranged attack do?
I'll improve the help page for this. Ranged units can attack first. Once they killed what they could, other units attack. This means they are quite powerful.

It seems like everytime I send a gift that the amount of estimated relations it gives is going up even though it's the same amount.. I went in and did it and didn't even send it, then checked the same amount again and it had went up.

The cancel marks and the things they cancel don't line up properly. Also I had a bug where I sent a squad of some archers and a governor to attack, they came back, then went back to the village on their own and it said 'Returning' and when they arrived there nothing happened and they disappeared.

odd, I saw the medieval techs for the first time. Castle is on of the last unlocks, but I already build castles earlier, is advanced fortifications supposed to unlock something else? also university unlocking when you have at most 3 more tech as expensive as that to go seems weird.

I had 3 groups that i sent back and forward to farm barbs, I then had a notice that troops that I didn't send arrived at a village I don't own, and my 3 outgoing troop groups vanished. This game is a mess. I would suggest that you make a forum for us to report bugs rather that having to comment them and not being sure you see them.
I will see with the Kongregate team for a forum. The issues you are describing were known in earlier versions but should be fixed since v1.0.9. Let me know what version you were playing on when you noticed them

in the Social Policies tab, you cant scroll down to see the rest of Rationalism, Pacifism and Militarism. i can only see the first upgrade for each one
