Maintenance apparently keeps the property's income from dropping month to month, but what does the manager do? And those months drag by... way... too... slowly...

I realize this is an idle game, but if the beginning is like watching paint dry, you'll lose most of your players to being annoyed before they ever get around to using the system that makes the game faster. You really need to re-balance the speed in the beginning. If you have to repeatedly tell the players "No, stay, it gets better!" the problem is with the game, not the patience of the players. A public-facing game like this needs to hold players on its own merits.
