Wonderful game! Loved it! I had to cheat to find the last purple skull though. And I died a bunch so there's that (missed out on an ending). Still great game though!

I was hoping the dev was trolling us once again when I got the good ending, but didn't have the sword yet. I found the last torch (kudos for using selective attention trick to hide it) and got the sword and I was so sad I got in instead of being trolled into 10-20 more levels...

@Gyan1010 it was needed, thanks for that one... You are able to GET STUCK in this game, actually... I used up all of my golden keys jolly opening doors, but I forgot to take the double golden key from one of the spiders... So I got stuck unable to enter the final rooms (after you get the pickaxe) because there was a door that required me to use a golden key... You should either fix that by removing the last door and removing one of the keys or something, dev... Or at least write a warning :P

you should have made it so enemies don't respawn or don't give any xp once you've killed them once and made it so there was only one possible way to beat the game deathless, maybe add it as a bonus
Didn't know that game. It was inspired by Magic Tower, a very old game (similar to Tower of the Sorcerer). The fighting was inspired by Fairune. You can then guess how I came with the game name :)

For me, the game was a lot of fun! Not dying in the entire playthrough was actually pretty easy for me since after leveling once you get more and more potions. At the end of every playthrough the difficulty became a bit of a joke though. This is because once you get the sword the exp nerf doesn't really matter anymore as you can just leave and enter a room with enemies to get to max level. After that, the poor old guys don't really stand a chance.

I don't like games where going back to the checkpoint restores your health entirely. I prefer those oldschool games where your health and score are saved along with the checkpoint.

Ok, after saying I wasn't going to try for the good ending I did anyways (long meeting this morning). If you just grind one level up and then always kill everything in the room it's not difficult at all. I think I have over 40 potions left at the end. Not going back for that one heart though... (goes back for last heart)

Woe is me, I found the 2 hidden skulls throughout the world, and the red skull with the boss, but cannot find the 2nd purple skull which I assume is in the underground maze somewhere...

I got to a point where I'm stuck, as all the remaining golden keys are behind doors that need golden keys to beopened, and I have none left.

Thought it was a lot of fun. Not really interested in trying to beat it without dying. I'm thinking the finite number of potions means you can end up getting stuck halfway through and have to start all over again.

I'm not sure where to go next. Level 41 I can't seem to get to the bottom right switch without the pickaxe, which I'm not sure where to get.

Pretty sure the no-death ending requires at least some grinding. The enemies in the game only provide enough first-kill XP to hit level 14 (final boss requires 16 to hit), and in particular the level jump between the archer and troll sets you back for the entire third area.

This game is deeper than I anticipated. There's a good balance of fighting and exploring. Two things that would help when figuring out a perfect run (well, even for a normal playthrough): an in-game map, and save/reset points.

Kept getting lost around level 16. These darn stairs, they all look the same. And just after I had memorized the layout more or less i found the pickaxe and everything started to look different again. -.-
This is neat. Took me a bit to get into it, but I really enjoyed this. Felt a bit like "Dwarf Complete" (with less puzzles and more enemies).

How to do ending 2 ? I get 1 and 3 ending. I walk from whole dungeon twice and spoiler*** for every health poltion in game. But not get ending 2. Dev can you help me. and one more thing this is very good and really simple to understand game. And i hope you do some more games like this.
I never had someone finish the game without dying on the first try. The second ending is when you die and finish the game. I think I'll have to give the second ending as a bonus when someone finish without dying.

There are some translation issues to English and the experience system is badly designed (grinding is the best thing to do but the dev tries to say not to so that his enemy-order strategy is preserved) ... but otherwise a fun game. The secrets are nicely designed.

I had to grind. But the most tedious part was only the initial lv1->3 part when spiders were too tough and the imps weren't really worth juggling potions for. But once I got through that, it was just a matter of clearing whole levels to make sure I level up steadily. The puzzles were sometimes frustrating but not too bad. Got Ending 1 and Ending 3

Grinding is totally necessary unless you have a perfect memory. There were a number of times I've run out of health potions and had to grind before advancing.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The dev is trolling us telling us not to grind. If you die once, you ending is tainted and you have to play through the entire game again (I think, didn't actually have the heart to redo it), so grind away! :p
Otherwise a very nice game ;)

I'm sorry but this game is a bit too tedious for me. I got frustrated trying to find my way around by remembering where each stairway without a map, and having a zero death game seems next to impossible.

Since you're nerfing enemy XP based on whether you've killed that individual, it really needs a way to visually discern which ones have been killed. Maybe display their HP bar as yellow or something?
I think I'll have to do something. I wanted it to be some sort of “hidden puzzle” where people needed to remember who they killed but the up votes to your post seems to say it's not a good idea.
*UPDATE* When the enemy scroll is captured, there will be a small visual difference between enemies already killed.

I found freedom and can go back to my normal life. You know, aside from having all these nifty toys and a high enough level that things that used to kill me will now die from my looking at them funny.
I never expected people to finish the game dying on their first play trough! I can see Kongregate players are good and actually read text. If this is the case, there might be the need to grind a bit unless you know exactly who to kill next.

Sweet game, reminds me of DungeonUp (but not randomised.) I got both the "-1" ending and the normal ending; both of them gave me a "you're screwed" panel/cut-scene. Is there a "good" ending? If it requires never dying, I don't think I have the energy for that, lol...
