There is a strategy though. If you guess in the hundreds, the tens, then finally go through each

u can guess any number between 1 to hundres in 7 chances or less.
This is because if there are 10 guesses given to you, you can guess any number between 1 and 2^10. Eg you guess 50. If thats too high, then guess 25, if thats too low then guess 38 and so on....

It's a pretty good game, thing is though that it's always possible to guess it in 7 tries by doing the half-n-half thing. Nice effort though, 4/5!
