Really nice! i love games like this, the only quip i have is that it's a little annoying to get up the stairs, and a lack of music.

Awesome idea, but it seems like the game just didn't have enough work to really make it as good as it could have been. Something that might pull people in a better control scheme (use wasd and arrow keys, also, shift, b, space and k are all very far apart from each other, making the controls harder to use) Also, the controls can be a little unresponsive. Perhaps you should work on the coding for controlling your character to make it a little easier to control.
Also, something that might pull people into the combat more is have enemies explode into a bunch of little balls instead of just the one. You could even have each little sphere they explode into become a pickup for points or something.
I ran into an enemy in the second area that I couldn't hit with bullets or regular attacks. Think that might've been a bit of a bug. I ended up having to run from him and died to the next enemy.
