I'll second the 'nice first game' comment; it's a solid pong clone. The only thing I'd change would be to maybe make the paddles a little bigger; they seem somewhat small relative to the large playing area.

It's not Impossible, but it is a challenging. The trick is to speed up the ball fast enough that the other paddle can't react quick enough. You have control of the ball. You can increase or decrease the speed of the Ball, depending how you hit the ball.
