The population - at least at higher levels - seems to display incorrectly. It shows I have a maximum population of 29k, yet guarding the village I have over 31,000 people (and yes, I mean people, not strength), not to mention around 8k split among the various tasks.

Very well done. I quite like the puzzle elements as how to build your empire. Also the risk reward method is well thought out. Looking forward to the next game in the series! 5/5
P.S. quick tip to anybody who is having trouble: I find that if you keep your risk under 20% you should be fine. I got my palace by turn 85 on medium this way. Just don't EVER go over twenty, then things start getting out of hand.

It might just be me but, there should be some hints to the ability to upgrade certain things more than once. I missed my chance to win on my first play through because I spent a point on fur then cloth outfit instead of both of pottery and economy/pottery V. 2, not realizing until I was too late.

Nice game, though the barbarians are done poorly. The strategy for fighting barbarians seems to be at a high (9%?) threat level, and it seems your army strength won't help you fight them off either. I think it would be better if every turn or so had a mini-combat, with a few lives and percentage points of land at stake, both to gain or lose. Otherwise highscores are "got lucky on chance events" rather than skill.

Other than a stepping stone into winning, agriculture seems to be a really stupid thing to purchase unless you have hordes of people.

Will have the resources to buy a palace at turn 100, get to turn 100 "You failed to get the resources to build a palace in time...". So close...

Fun, simple game.
So, what exactly is cheating?
Also, tutorial is kinda minimalist. Would have been simpler to just say "Hover mouse over things for information."

pretty nice game once you get whats going on. But really, those ice ages seem to last forever! I think for most of my last game i was in ice age from turn 50 until the end.

New high score: 10283 on deity difficulty: 1908 pop, 1030 food/turn, 3655 production/turn, 7554 culture/turn, 1.86% danger. As I said in my other post, the key is ignoring certain skills entirely and focusing very heavily on fishing and culture.

This game is too dependent on the RNG... one bad disaster or barbarian attack can pretty much destroy your chances to complete the game in time.

game-breaking bug: if you lose land in a certain area twice, it'll sometimes go to ZERO. I lost land by the river for a 2nd time and my cap went from 110 to 0...

Additionally, the random factorizing needs "good" and "bad" events separated better. At this point, you can either get in an ice age and be punished or get a food gathering buff after day 5... So which would you pick? I think you'd restart 10 times over until you get that food gathering buff...

I also thought that higher strength amounts would improve my chances against barbarians, but I'm having this kind of luck (last post) with against low barbarian strength and with enough strength to be less than 4% invasion threat... Why invest in strength when I have nearly the same odds with "Cheat" at 20% as I do at 4%, and the same thing with "Fight"? Sure I fight a tad more often, but usually I'm safe regardless because of "Cheat"... "Fight" needs a buff to actually be a viable option when you get merely single digit strength rewards in a game where you get 400%+ throughout the game...

What is the point of the "Fight" command against barbarians? At least "Cheat" usually makes me lose nothing at all... Fight usually gets me a minor amount of strength at the cost of a quarter of my population... That's terrible.

Just a bug that I noticed, your population won't change from your food production when it's at its cap. Even if you start starving your people. Apparently, being crowded is bad, being starving is bad, but being overcrowded and starving is just fine.

there seems to be a problem with the plus minus buttons. It will randomly add whole bunch or a few more or just 1 when i press it once.

EVerytime, when i loose people (hunt, storm,...) and they are replaced, they become more people, than allowed. These extra people in the guard position dont consume food. And this increased number remains and increases further with every lost and replacement. So i got now 6100 guards while my limit is 6000 and i got 1500 in employment. So i got 7600 people while i got a limit of 6000, which consume food for 6000!

I started a game on medium and on the very first day I got attacked by a tribe of cannibals: intelligence HIGH strength WEAK, I stayed to fight. They ate all my people before I had a chance to live a single day. -_-
love it XD

All in all I liked the game, it's good to see a game which is actually challenging and get easier only when you get the hang of it, instead of the usual grindfest. Attack results slightly too random for me, as loss is quite devastating, but that's it. I give it 5/5 and I hope to see more.

So I've reached turn 1200, and it appears that, starting at around turn 900, cultural exchange has a tendency to screw up, giving you more tech points than it said it would, but also changing your culture rating. I ended up slowly working my way back up from -1200M, but that was fixed when another cultural exchange randomly rocketed it back up to 549 million, so that could use some looking in to. Great game, though.

I like the game, but in 10 tries I haven't been able to beat it on the easiest level. Definitely needs some tweaks. Biggest issue, especially on easy, is when I have all items researched, and all people assigned yet waiting on year to hit right value to do more. That is dead time wasted....can't build more people, can't store up food, can't add more to mining.....

Serious flaws in the game mechanics. In a matter of a few turns I was attacked twice and lost 50% of mountain land twice allowing for 0/0 stone workers. Game over. Serious game ending flaws like this should be fixed.

7.7K in hardest mode. Tip on skill progression: go Knowledge of Plants first, then crude stone tools. You'll cap out on pop but will be able to quickly get the Dwelling building, which is very important. Then go (in order) use of fire, hunting, primitive weapons, improved stone tools. Do NOT get fur clothing. Next get building of fire, fishing OR advanced gathering (get whichever you didn't get first next), shelter, religion, art, thrown weapons, and advanced stone tools. No hunting, it's not worth it. You want most guys on food with some on culture until the late game, when your pop should be over 1K and you should get an upgrade every few turns. Works on every mode.

It took time, but i beat the game on 93th turn. Just have to find right tactics and stick with them. The production is key to win, but have enough population growth and culture production to get it. Definetly waiting for sequel or improvements to current game, becuase so far it has been only game that kept me trying and trying and i really enjoyed it.
