It is interesting for sure, but you could definitely do more with it. You should add different options to do different things with the balls like anti-gravity, make an explosion to scatter the balls, etc. Maybe add the ability to toggle whether the balls follow the mouse or not. Good job for your first game.

Relaxing experience, can you add up a counter for how many balls have been added? That way we can use the game as a way of testing how much our computer can handle just for fun.

Yeah, the FPS goes down after 500 for me as well
