Added Idle to tags since you don't have to play, just wait for the money. Crappy, dull, grindy and a real disappointment.

I usually love top-down shooters, and I really detest this one. Haven't beaten the second boss yet, can't be bothered to continue grinding out level after level to try to build up the coins for one upgrade to see if maybe THIS ONE will be the one that makes the difference.

this game is not THAT fun by itself, but add so much grind on top of that and it looks more like a money milking then game itself... ive put 3/5 stars, but after playing it for few hours (better to say leaving it to play itself while im doing something else, just so i can upgrade my weapons to beat the level), i've downgraded it to 2/5...
im seriously dissapointed kiwi, you didn't need this...

game is unstable, full of bugs, requires LOTS of grinding (6 replays of each level just to get the in-game badges) and uses the same money system for everything. I think everyone else has said the same things, not that it will make any difference. As soon as "pay-to-win" became a thing, NinjaKiwi didn't just hop on, they commandeered that band-wagon.

It's really disappointing that I beat the game but didn't even get to max out one of the weapons to an epic. If there were a couple more worlds maybe the upgrades scaling would make more sense. Also, how am I supposed to know if the research upgrades are doing anything??? Is it a glitch that there is no visual component to the research upgrades that should have an obvious visual component in-game?
A really easy upgrade that would make this game much more fun would be a reset button on the upgrades. There are FIVE branches to each weapon but I'm never going to get to play the top levels of any of them unless I "play" (grind) for 6 more hours.
This game has huge potential that falls flatter than a pancake b/c of desperation for money. So sad :(
1/5

Don't know what's going on with the upgrades, but i have to refresh the game anytime I want the purchase to go through.

Garbage. More settings to optimize performance would be nice. Oh, and allowing me to actually connect when I've navigated away and back to the game. Too much grinding. Too many upgrades that are too expensive. NinjaKiwi has really gone downhill. Disappointing and greedy. 1/5.

This game is just barely interesting enough that I can often convince myself to grind a level rather than go outside to have a cigarette. 3.5/5 as a tool to quit smoking, 2/5 for abuse of IAP as the core of the game. (1/5 is reserved for those who only let you pay or quit.)

Decent difficulty progression, but server latency with purchases is unacceptable. Just because you want money, don't break the game for those of us who enjoy a challenge

I go to shop page to buy Dual Blast but loading it's taking sooooo much time ..... I decide buy also shurikens for same cash. Now I don't have my points and I'm still waiting for shop feedback .... this can be annoying after 10min ^^

This was a really fun game. I haven't gotten to the grinding portion yet, kinda scared to see when that part of the game hits...I'm 3/4 through the game...and not only having no problems...I'm having a lot of fun.

Why should a single player game have to check in with a server to give me an upgrade I've bought with the in-game currency?

This game is truly awful. How it has an average ranking of 3.8 is beyond me. Rather disappointing that this sad excuse for a game was given badges.

Grindfest. Clearly geared toward forcing in-app purchases for people who don't want to waste hours replaying old levels.
Also, buggy. Cash doesn't update at the end of a level. Sometimes doesn't update at all. Sometimes the value is inexplicably stuck at 0. Sometimes purchases don't register.
I love top-down scrollers, and this game wouldn't disappoint if it weren't for the mandatory grind and buggy interface.

At first I wondered how a game whose comments unanimously agree that this is a grindfest could have a 3.8 rating. Then I realized that the devs had the presence of mind to allow players to spend real money for upgrades in this flash game that no one would ever play beyond beating it once. The grind isn't a design flaw, it's an opportunity to allow the gamer (who the devs care so much about) to enjoy the game more by becoming financially involved. (You spend $35 on a flash game and you're really gonna wanna get your money's worth.) Good call, devs! 5/5, faved.

I never understood the developers need to make us collect coins or orbs or whatever for money. Why not just give cash for the balloons we pop (different balloons would give difference amounts) instead of needing to dash over and collect more orbs or whatever and the need to further grind through since we miss a bunch of them on the run through anyway.

It's a shame you can't give negative stars. Grindy as hell. Never was a fan of Bloon games (some are okay), this one is a very obvious and very bad money grab. This getting badges shows where Kongregate is headed.

Looks like i new a new computer, so i can play battlefield 4 on the highest options and be able to play this game without any lag.

Haven't even finished the first zone before this game became grind heavy. The red bloop and blue bloop thing in replayed levels is ridiculous. All these upgrades and research stuff that have quite a price, and the levels give barely any money. The bloop thing was extra annoying to me because you would go through a whole level collecting hundreds of red and blue dots, only to get a measly payout of $75. Makes you think your making ton of money, but you really are not.

The developers are obviously money-grubbing here. 3 "STORE" buttons on the stage select screen, extremely grindy gameplay unless you buy super overpriced upgrades. Yes, developers have to eat, but don't be greedy, it's a damned flash game.

my money is somehow stuck on -1$ dollar. i can't earn anything anymore and thus can't upgrade. and there seems to be no way to reset the game data...
oh and also: too much of a grind

garbage grinding game that wants your money... I'm playing for badges and never touching or thinking about it again, and I'm a bit annoyed that this game is getting badges over the some other recent games that are actually badge worthy... Also love that none of the Developers seem to care 2/5... lowest rating I've given in probably a year

Just had a bug where it went back to main screen in the middle of a round and then reset all of my Super Monkey Research.

I like nijakiwi games. I love the bloonsTD series. This one however...not so good. Too much grinding, and the power ups are kinda dumb. For example, upgrading darts on my left hand does not affect the darts on my right hand (right handed weapons apparently come out of a different design bureau). The most obvious missing upgrade is a larger magnet or a friend to help pick them up (I mean come on, this is a job so easy a monkey could do it!).
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The research upgrades I've been buying don't seem to do anything. I have a few upgraded pretty good but don't see any "focused beams" or "wizard lord" magic. Where are they? I don't see a way to equip them. So I am assuming that they are general all around upgrades for my monkey.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Bloons is using their popularity to try to force us to pay for unnecessary powerups just to make this grindfest of a game more entertaining.
