Flash End-of-Life, Ruffle Integration!
This game runs on Adobe Flash. Effective Jan. 2021, Adobe began blocking its flash player's use everywhere. Kongregate is now partnering with Ruffle to make some of our Flash content playable again. Please note: If you are using Ruffle, badges will not work normally. In order to earn a badge in a Flash game, you will need to complete the badge, then submit a screenshot (showing both proof of completion and your username) as a missing badge report using the report missing achievement option. Also, please join us in the Kongregate Discord for all the latest Kongregate news!

Shady business takes place in this Libertynet IRC channel, and it's your job as an investigative reporter to get to the bottom of it. Tread carefully--you may end up with regrets.
There are several endings, and it's pretty easy to get to most of them. However, you have to be careful to reach the 100% completion ending.
And along those lines, here's how to know when you've got the "best" ending: you see Seeker's real name, initialed TRP.
Addressing questions about how to get the "good ending":
It's hard to answer without revealing too much to people who haven't already finished, but here's some information that may help. First off: there isn't a "good" ending. Sometimes things just don't have a happy solution, and that can't be changed.
More philosophically, the endings are akin to Pandora's box. On the one hand, you can leave the IP unrevealed and get banned, your investigation incomplete. On the other, you can give the IP to Darkil to satisfy your curiosity and, by doing so, commit murder.
As Seeker concisely phrases it: c'est la vie.

You can accelerate the text by holding the mouse button while the cursor is over the display area. (I think you shouldn't use this for your first playthrough, though.)
If you find it hard to get the 100% ending, try exhausting every keyword before beginning Darkil's, as when car0t leaves, some of the topics aren't available.

Agreed about the branching. This was actually originally made for the Mini Ludum Dare #27, a 48 hour game making competition, so I didn't have time to write in all the branches I wanted to. I started with Darkil's branch because I thought it would be the most interesting, but then I ran out of time. (This is also why Tebi doesn't really do anything.)
About a sequel: I'm considering it, and it seems like a good project to do. However, I'm working on a sequel to my other game, Minerbot, and should probably finish that one first. You guys and your sequel requests. :)

How do I contact BurnZeZ? because I want to see just how potent these pictures of kittens are. Right now.

It was fun but very easy to get the complete ending. I would have liked perhaps a little more interaction from the others in the chat room perhaps talking to seeker and asking questions about him to up the difficulty and expand the stroy. Over all, short and fun with some sly humor. Hope to see a sequel!

The writing is so fantastic. The subtle humour is paced with a perfect cadence, and I really love the way it controls. I just wish the story branched a little more - at times I felt there was only one available option.
