I feel like the initial story for the game was more compelling than the actual game. The whole deadly arena followed by working as an intergalactic mercenary wasn't done justice.

Pardon me for copying my earlier comment, but there was something to add to it.
I think that a prequel to this game, the arena fighting, should be imminent. That sounds just as epic, and I'd like to see what these "superior enemies" did to him.
Not only that, but if he's really navigating an alien planet, make the levels similar to Super C Area 2, make it an overall level with the shop appearing at fixed points...make it an adventure. Show us the entire planet rather than the planet being sent after him.
Make it an "on-rails" game similar to Metroid Prime, only 2D. Shops would appear mid-area, and save points only before bosses. Show us you can make a video game out of this.
This game is one of the best arena shooters I've ever played, and I wish to see this game become the adventure we all deserve to play. Don't disappoint me!

This game is great, balanced and fun. my only complain is that I keep constantly losing control of my character... my computer is not that old so i am guessing is just a bug in the key handles. While it completly destroy the experience i can see that the games is quite good and the bug should be easy to fix. 3/5 until fixed which hopefully wont take long.
