Alpha version of Elemental Showdown made for the capstone project of the Game design and development specialization from Michigan State University at Coursera.
This is not a finished nor complete game, it is still in development process and may be completed for 2017. The alpha is uploaded to get some play testing feedback, it still lacks a lot of features and playing modes(online PvP, 1P campaign, etc.). the game is in active development. All feedback is welcomed, thank you for your time!.
Elemental Showdown a dynamic turn based Strategy game where you control one elemental magician to overcome the opponent in an arena based combat style, push the opponent out or deplete his health.
To defeat the opponent you must select your spells wisely, manage your energy resource, cast spells and move around the arena. As every round progresses you get more powerful and able to cast several and stronger spells, but so does your opponent. You must plan a balanced and powerful strategy to be able to stay in your arena and take the opponent down before he takes you down.

Not too bad, but spells need some work on, I think.
The game is very set as to how it plays, I think. Play a few turns and etch at your opponent, then throw everything and hope they don't have an armor for that spell.
There should be a way to make rushes viable, without killing off the long game with skilled players, but better not, as a long game just feels like it's dragging.
See if you can get some AI and a multiplayer going.
Was going to suggest some preset spell setups, but until there's an AI or multiplayer set up, there's no point.
All in all though, I like it and want to see more.

That is right the game is still in process, the spells do need some work visually and in terms of balance and utility. The game is designed to have all that (rush and sustain based strategies, knock the opponent off before he kills you and so on) but the game has little play testing and it is still more difficult to play test if an AI mode is not available or even more a PvP online, this game is desgined to be played online but it was out of the scope of the project (only two months) I will add several and very important features like choosing a character, limit the amount of ultimate spells one player can get, a quit and options menu and a lot of other cool stuff. I hope you liked the bare bones of the game and hopefully it gets as great as I imagined. Anyway thank you again for your time!.
