Biggest problem is still the fact it’s a facebook game.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Vorp!] Vorp! Advanced Defense Tactics

I’ll just be covering the basics because I’m not the best person to write this out.
Defending with Torpaz
Torpaz has low health, reasonable speed, fast turns, and high damage and no set role, meaning it works well for defense.
Razor Shard is hard to aim, but does loads of damage if shot well. In addition, if you press your ship against a wall, you can shoot Razor Shard through it.
Maelstrom also goes through walls, and does great damage, though less to structures. You will need this.
Impure Crystals fires a bunch of crystals that go more-or-less in the direction you face, and look almost like atoms. They do good damage, but any player who runs into them will try to avoid them later.
Sapphire Armor is weak and won’t protect you against most laser/explosive weapons, but can soak a hit or two from projectiles(Such as Scatter Cannon fire, or Pincer Bullets.)
Unfortunately, while you could take a Clanknor head-on, you have little health or stopping power, and not enough reputation to scare other players away(Unlike Craw or Clanknor, which do.)
Stay leveled, be careful, don’t get close to enemy ships unless they’re low health, don’t get Sapphire Armor or Impure Crystals too early, and don’t rush into the enemy base unless all enemies are dead or fighting your allies.
The upgrade path I use is 21212554353434, which is good enough for what you can do.

I really wasn’t thinking short term for this anyway. Should the more costly skins have lower advantages?
Also, dump ideas for this, yes/no?

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Vorp!] Ship Paintjobs

This is a silly little idea, but what if each ship had an extra effect that changes with what paintjob you use?

For example:

IW’s basic paint could have rockets that turn slightly faster and don’t have the safety timer(this is a pretty big thing, the rockets are a lot of damage).
The Desert Camo paint could have faster CLaW recharge(to the point where it can sustain 3 CLaWs at once).
The Veteran paint could have more Territory Defense healing and slightly faster recharge.
The more costly the skin, the less useful it is.

I thought up quite a few of these, but would this be a good idea at all?

This… is really cool.
The Teleported Bombardment should gain speed with upgrades and, therefore, more damage.
The Unstable jump, if I read this right, temporarily stops the front portal from working, preventing use of all loadouts?
Expunging Vortex Is pretty good. Needs to teleport enemies faster than the Deploy Portal, though.
It doesn’t really need the translucent wings to be non-collidable, as the ships are round and act as round objects.
Should be a bit faster than Dreadnaught, as it doesn’t have as many attacks.

Hunter’s Mark should only be usable after some time; say, for level one, as an example; 4 seconds before it can be used? upgrades would give you more time to use it.
Deception’s ATOMs should do damage, it should also create a chat message based on the nearest ship.

Name: Antarus

Appearance: Copper, cobbled-together looking, but symmetrical(I really don’t have any ideas beyond that). Paintjobs would be silver and gold, respectively.

Role: I really have no idea.

Pilot: Arthur McCanney was experimenting with ways to teleport things in a way that did not result in them being massively far from Space Station 31. Long story very short; the experiment imploded, sending him and all the copper in his lab to a forest on the planet called by the natives(small, reddish, koala-like mammals) Earth. After several years and many accidental spacetime jumps, he finally managed to make a spaceship that could control the spacetime jumps.

General Stats:
Firepower: Medium
Speed: Medium
Handling: Medium
Energy: Medium
Difficulty: Medium

Q – Timelocked Missiles: Fires two missiles that select a target and rush at it, aligned to the target(like dreadnaught’s nuke). If they miss(teleporting unlocks them from their target), they will choose a new target.

Level Three: 312 Damage per Second, 210 Range, 24 Width, 5 Second Duration, 50% Self Rotational Slow, 11 Second Cooldown, 101 Energy Cost.

E – Spacehop: Teleports you generally forwards. Small chance to malfunction and teleport you to a random spot on the map.
E – Stats:
Level One: Warps forward up to 200, Teleport Arc(degrees) 40, 10% Malfunction Chance, 5 Second Cooldown, 60 Energy Cost.
Level Two: Warps forward up to 215, Teleport Arc(degrees) 35, 8% Malfunction Chance, 4.5 Second Cooldown, 80 Energy Cost.

But there is another bug: On Firefox, at least, you cannot go fullscreen if the browser is not maximized(this does not happen with Opera).

@ChenMasio good point! I tweaked it a little so that the fighter drones sent by the machine give much less exp, and so that the swarm drones give just about no exp.

Those swarm drones would be really hard to fight for a low-level Hirudo.
On the other hand, the lowest amount of EXP those swarm drones could give is 10, lowest ATOMs 25.

Originally posted by LackOfSkill:

Pincer has shorter range than the rainmaker turrets at level 1, but slightly out ranges it on level 2 and way out ranges them on level 3. PS, a trick with the ant ( and maybe some other weapons) is that the pincer has a time dependent decay on its little vorp bundle. That said, you can increase the “range” of the pincer by giving it some speed before you shoot. Correct me if I’m wrong (please) but if you are stationary the range of a pincer will go a certain distance, but if you are moving, it will travel a little farther before decaying ( disappearing), and if you time it well, you can take out rainmakers with level 1 pincers, with no dmg taken. You need to find the range that the turret will fire at you, mentaly mark that, and just move forward to that point ( no need for AB) using space to break and back up. You can practice this in solo, with a good view of the turret, on the right side back battery turret.

XXgg is great for an early crash of the front turrets, just get in, shoot the turret with as much gunke as you can, then retreat and heal. the acid will continue to eat away for a little while, and nothing will stop it.

oh, and clanks can shoot through walls, really good for killing that front right battery while still staying at the front line :) ( not that a clank really needs to do that, but just saying)

Oh, and 10 more days to start playing again, YAY!!

Torpaz can shoot through walls just like Clank, but it does way more damage.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Vorp!] Killing turrets with everyship.

Torpaz can shoot through walls if you press up against them(aiming at something almost directly on the other side of the wall(you can fire a bit to the side a bit too)).
Jabberwocky’s Boomerblade does half damage until it starts to come back, not double.
The Iron Wolf thing is obvious.
Yeah, Turbo Hawk outranges flame turrets but won’t always cause the sound at that range.

Technically, yes. In practice, you get disqualified.

Uh darth, the ballistic weapons barely do any damage too buildings, and there aren’t that many ballistic anyway (dread and jabber primarily). Energy like ant’s bullets don’t have mass so it isn’t a ballistic.

Dreadnaught has no ballistic weapons but the mines, but it is a ballistic weapon itself.
Also, the ships with ballistic weapons are never the ones that look it.
