Monster's Den Impossible Badge Party Advice
Sorry to necro, but I haven’t seen my (admittedly quite weird) build here. Rogue/Ranger/Cleric/Mage.
I build them for speed and my battle plan (got lucky with replenish items).
My battle plan’s in order of speed:
Rogue: Thief’s Luck
Ranger: Hail of Arrows
Cleric: Anoint on Mage
Mage: Lightning Storm
Pick off anything left surviving after that. Never fails in the basic campaign and since I’m on level 102 (what is this “outside” of which you speak?) I can simply gang up on the Legendaries and poison them. Gorgon stun is OP though.

Well, the more obvious solution would be to allow people to pay for your Kreds-analogue with normal currency. That way, it levels the playing field a bit and you’ll still get people coming in. More importantly, it will seem fairer and therefore get more people on side and playing the game.

Help wanted
Hello. I’m lv42, Premium, and have… basically no idea what to do. Mostly I’ve been getting by on luck and the odd red supergem endurance run for what little XP I’ve got. I just need the basics of high XP gain given to me in layman’s terms, and what skills I should get to make this a reality. For reference, I have the following:
Focus 38
Replenish 14
Forge 30
Construction 9
Amplifiers 30
Flexibility 14
Resonance 1
Wild Gem 1
37 free points.
Any and all help appreciated.

@FerretFerret: Your argument (which I entirely agree with, to avoid confusion) puts me in mind of a quote from one of the Discworld novels, I forget which.
“Human beings are incredible! Look at ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’! You take billions of tons of burning gas and turn it into a song for children! You’re so interesting, you’ve invented dullness!”
…
That quote might not be correct, now I think about it, but better to misquote from one’s own memory than merely quote verbatim from one’s library.

@BCLEGENDS: I see your point (why does nobody paragraph on the Internet any more…) but really, reading something in its entirety is just good manners. The standard police tactic during the ’50s – in England, that is – was simply to outsmile the opposition; they were always reasonable, always cheery, and thus they broke their suspects. The same applies to Internet arguments. Be reasonable and be sarcastic, but not too sarcastic, and you will be the victor of a hundred faintly pointless flame wars.

furry fandom?
@Sori_Varon: I agree with you; it is only some of the more insane elements of the furry fandom that indulge in what I like to call anthropophobia, because why use a short word when a long one will do. I should really have worded that section better and I apologize. However, every collective has moderates which act as the power base for the rabid idiots (and a more apt term for the militant edge of the furry fandom you’d be hard-pressed to find). Thus, whilst you’re not saying yes, you aren’t saying no loud enough, to quote Sam Vimes (in Night Watch, I think).
As for the ends justifying the means, well… in this case, it’s about survival. Humans are, as top predators go (and we are the top predators of this biome, don’t try to claim otherwise), quite rubbish. Biologically speaking at least. No claws or fangs worth of the name, no wings, no anything except innovation. And that’s what humankind has perfected. Other animals use tools too; all the great apes do, ravens can, pigs can be taught to (sort of), even the aforementioned octopi use them. There is footage somewhere of an octopus wobbling pleasantly along the seabed after emerging from two halves of a coconut, which is both a groundbreaking discovery and vaguely reminiscent of something Monty Python might have come up with after binging on magic mushrooms and primary-school television.
But I digress. Going by your logic, would the world really be better if humans hadn’t done what they had? Would your life be substantially improved by watching your herd die by inches to feed the local population of whatever predator happened to be within munching distance because at least we hadn’t upset the natural order? If the roles were reversed and humans were kept in enclosures by bipedal lions, would that be better than the present arrangement? I say no. Not for humankind. And since humankind’s what all of us are, however much we may wish for it to be otherwise, we have to stick up for ourselves.
Also, minor digression before getting back to the main rant: if you’re going to put ironic quote marks around something, spell it right. ‘And so forth’ is a phrase. It is functionally equivalent to ‘And so on’. Note that the letter u in both phrases is conspicuous by its absence. Of course, I’m speaking to someone whose idea of a convincing argument is “I’m right because I say I am and you’re a big fat loser pants nyer nyer ni nyer nyer” directed at someone on their own side, so perhaps basic literacy’s a bit out of your league.
Okay, back on track. As for being “closer to perfection” (I’ll ignore the comment about the ends justifying the means because it makes me laugh like a drain and falling off of my chair is not fun), I’m not quite certain what you are getting at. Define perfection, if you would, and explain to me how anything animals do to achieve it isn’t done by humans without tying yourself in knots or creating a category so ridiculously specific it will make me start laughing again, and my chest already hurts like all the spikiest demons of hell are tap-dancing on it. Endeavour to try. You know you have it in you somewhere.

Learn to read.
I do read. The OP for this, however, is too long to be read by me in any reasonable time period.
Then learn to read faster. It isn’t difficult.
That said, OP, you could’ve made things easier for the people you’re trying to engage in dialogue by using shorter paragraphs. Yours have a tendency to run on like an elderly lady’s tap when she’s down visiting the grandchildren for a month. Unless you are Sebastian Faulks, this is Not A Good Thing.
Also, I have to disagree with you on the subject of animals being better than humans. And by disagree I of course mean ‘call you out on your retrograde bullshit’. Whilst I identify as a furvert (a pansexual transgendered furvert at that; boy howdy, the internet loves me…), I hate that the fandom bashes humanity at every opportunity for not being in tune with nature and being violent and building cars and so forth.
First off, I want you to go and look up two things. One is the phrase ‘nature red in tooth and claw’, coined (or at least brought to prominence) by the naturalist, scientist and face-on-my-tenner Charles Darwin. The other is the bilharzia parasite, which is transmitted by drinking river water in parts of Africa and lives solely to lay its eggs in the eyes of small children.
Second, humans act on instinct as much as animals do. Carnivores kill to eat; this is because eating is extremely important to them. The man who brained another man to death for the contents of his wallets and his nice shoes was acting from exactly the same motive. Mating duels fought by everything from lions to wildebeest to deer can be fatal; this is because procreation is important to them. The man screaming obscenities and firing a shotgun at his wife’s lover is acting from the same motive. I just wish he wasn’t being quite so loud…
Finally, so humans pollute. And it’s causing the climate to change. Well, bugger me with a rusty ladle, don’t life suck. We used technology to get us into this mess, yes, but it will be more advanced technology that gets us out of it. The human animal builds; it is his lot, and it has taken him further than any other creature on Earth. Human evil technology took us to the Moon, and send robots to Mars and even further away. Humanity’s twisted attempts to play God have enabled us to discover the innermost secrets of the universe and use them in our daily lives.
In conclusion, let me answer the question you posed above:-
Why do I love animals you ask? I answer you with my own question; have you ever seen a dog shoot another dog just to get a wallet full of money? Have you ever seen a cat end an army to a doomed fight? Have you ever seen a fox start a holocaust? I thought not. Animals are beautiful beyond words because they are so much closer to perfection then humans
with a question of my own.
Was the music of Handel written by his pet guinea pig? Did Michaelangelo take the credit for David from a street tomcat rootling through a Veronese back alley for bits of fish and masonry tools? Was the Portal dev team composed entirely of lemurs? Was the Saturn V rocket designed and built by a team of scientifically minded octopi?
I thought not.
Animals are capable of great beauty, yes. When we were rolling around in the gutter with them, we were in touch with that beauty on a level unheard of since. But the animals stayed in the gutter.
And humanity looked at the stars.

New Card Group Ideas.
I’d like a Mughals deck. For those not in the know, the Mughals were the empire that ruled over much of India before the British Empire (and before that the East India Trading Company) came in with boatloads of redcoats and fucked up their shit. Let’s face it, a man draped in gold and jewels riding a cannon-wielding elephant whilst screaming in Urdu? Badass.
Tipu Sultan, the Mysorian
HP: 75 E:100
3/5/0
Innate: If interrupted, Tipu Sultan’s next attack deals 10 more damage. This effect does not stack up (if he’s interrupted 3 turns in a row, the attack will do 10 additional damage, not 30).
Moveset
Tiger Rifle: An accurate, long-ranged rifle shot. Chance to cause the enemy to bleed 3 damage per turn for 4 turns. 35E 19D Hit 99% Proc 65% Physical Speed 5 Far
Elephant Goring: The Sultan’s war elephant charges down the foe, its swinging tusks giving it a chance to stun. 55E 22D Hit 85% Proc 58% Physical Speed 3 Close/Far
Burnt Offerings: An offering of incense to Kali means the goddess strikes down those who would destroy her subjects. 60E 6×7D Hit 85% Proc – Light Speed 3 Far
Jewelled Scimitar: The Sultan’s own wide-bladed, swooping-curved sword. It’s beautiful, up until you get hit in the face with it. 20E 16D Hit 75% Proc – Physical Speed 6 Close
Jalaluddin Akbar, the Great Emperor
HP: 80 E: 100
6/0/1
Innate: The first attack against Jalaluddin Akbar is reflected onto the enemy for half damage.
Moveset
Mansabdari: Akbar’s royal cavalry charge in, attacking the foe with flashing damascened-steel sabres. 52E 9×4D Hit 92% Proc – Speed 7 Physical Close
Portuguese Gunners: A volley of arquebus fire from Akbar’s Portugues emissaries has a chance to stun the enemy, or at least make them dive for cover. 40E 5×7D Hit 60% Proc 60% Speed 5 Physical Close/Far
Salim Chisti Prayers: The prayers of the Sufi saint soothe Akbar’s soul, healing him of status defects (poisoning, burns, and so forth). Can only be used three times. 25E 0D Hit 99% Proc 99% Speed 8 Light Close/Far
Dih-I-Llali: A religious teaching founded on the many truths of the religions Akbar encountered. The truth hurts. Big time. Chance to burn the enemy for 5 damage per turn for 3 turns. 75E 55D Hit 90% Proc 67% Speed 4 Light Close
So, what do you think?

Great ideas on the items, and overall rather balanced.
Here’s the last of my Historical Leaders set, and the items to go with it:
Henry, the Plantaganet
HP:85 E:100 Phys 8 Light 5 Dark 0
Innate: Henry heals 10HP per turn
Moveset:-
God for Harry!: A single, massively damaging strike that burns enemy benched characters for 4 damage for 3 turns. 65D 85E Hit 100% Proc 85% Spd 3 Light Close
God for England!: A sword blow with a chance to stun the enemy next turn. 22D 45E Hit 92% Proc 68% Spd 5 Phys Close
God for St. George!: Any character with one or more Dark-type attacks, including allies, takes 10 damage per Dark attack they possess. -D 60E Hit 75% Proc 98% Spd 4 Light Close/Far
Iron Will: The next turn, Henry recovers 60 energy at a cost to himself of 20 health. 0D 0E Hit 100% Proc – Spd 2 Light Far
ITEMS
Little Round Spectacles: Immune to stat-lowering effects
Flame of Orleans: All attacks additionally burn the target in play for 3 damage per turn for 4 turns
Sceptre of the Sun: Successful attacks have a 60% chance to sap 5 energy from the target in play
Ataturk’s Longsword: Physical attacks make the enemy bleed 2 damage per turn for the next 6 turns
The Wash Coronet: +20% chance to crit on single-hit attacks
Again, feedback is welcome.

Esprit de Dieu: Reflects the enemy attack back onto the enemy it came from. Cannot be used 2 turns in a row. 0D 30E Hit 100% Proc 98% Spd 8 Light Close/Far

HP:80 E:100 Phys 2 Light 4 Dark 5

Moveset —
Twin Scimitars: Two slashes from Damascene steel Turkish blades. 14×2D 45E Hit 90% Proc – Spd 5 Phys Close
Janissary Guardian: The master archers of the Ottoman empire can hit even a fleeing foe. 48D 50E Hit 100% Proc 98% Spd 8 Phys Far

Does he happen to be modeled after Louis XIV? If so I think the Grapeshot is pretty fucking funny. You should make his innate rob energy (Money) from the opponent to go towards the biggest waste in France’s history.
Yes, indeed he is. You can tell, because Bourbon was the House of the French kings and Louis Quatorze was also called Le Roi Soleil, because of his obsession with gold. Well spotted. Have an internet. On the subject of your innate, that could work but I’m worried about him being overpowered.

A good Idea, as a hole. But, here is my opinion on some of thae moves
Sabre ratling: For how long?
Espirit of dieu: Excuse me, but a dual-ranged reflecting attack with speed 6, that affect any tipe of move? No, no
Janissary guardian: A single-hit attack who hits fleeing enemies for 48 damage and cost 50 energy? I mean, I know that Andromeda Rain of arrows is even worse in the damage/cost ratio, but dont you think this is a little… too much?
Excluding that, i kinda liked then.
Sabre Rattling would be for the next 2 turns. I kinda forgot to put it in, seeing as it was three in the morning and I was drunk. Same sort of thing happened with Esprit de Dieu. It’s supposed to be far ranged and only affect Light attacks, and I’ll nerf the speed. I know that Janissary is a bit crap, but I wanted to nerf Suleiman a little – his innate makes his other attacks somewhat overpowered, and the effect would be even more pronounced if you put him in a team with Louis Bourbon and B9. Plus, Janissaries were goddamn amazing, so perhaps I do their memory an injustice…

Yes, that’s rather the problem… thing is, I want something to give me a bit of an edge against, say, Level 3s. Currently, I do not have this, especially against Gravity decks (Damn the Otyugh to an eternity in the lowest pit of Dis).

6 Lycanthropes

1 Dissipation Shield
