For the letter/Vellum events, users have three days after the event to trade them in.
The letter/vellums are being removed within a second after the event is over. This has already occurred at Clapalong. I’m sure it will occur everywhere else as well.

Blackmarket suggestions:
It would be nice if the success rate were to be returned to its previously level. Anyway,
Currently, as we all know, the success rate has dropped for the black market. And as we all know, each time it fails, we have to click the confirm button. With successes, we don’t have to waste time clicking the silly confirm button. Players don’t like to see failures but the issue is compounded when the failures lead to more useless clicking of the confirm button.
Two possible suggestions to address this.
1. I suggest that the confirm button be done away with. Treat the failures similar to the success and have a message “splash” saying that it was a failure.
OR
2. Reduce the profit from 0.2 to 0.05 (1/4th the current amount) and increase the success rate to 100% (4 times it’s current rate). Thus, the overall profit for selling resources remains the same. But we get to see 100% successes and no more useless clicking of the confirm button. Win-win. For those wishing to spend diamonds/magic potions, then profit remains at 0.2 with the success rate at 100% — meaning there’s no change for those spending diamonds/magic.

Bug Reports
This issue with EXPLORE started occurring within the last couple of weeks. When completing a team explore quest (e.g dense forest, Stonehenge), my heroes are still stuck as members of a team and are unable to move. The listing in the hero hall shows my heroes are idle so there is no reason for my heroes to be unable to move in explore.
I have to refresh the browser in order to let my heroes move. Again, this issue appears to be new as I’ve never experienced this until recently.

Blackmarket stats:
Sold 10k resources at black market for 2k profit.
Sold 260k crop, 380 k wood, 380k stone and 340k iron. That’s a total of 136 sales.
Made 70k total profit. At 2k profit per successful sales, that’s 70k /2k = 35 successful sales.
Thus, the success rate is 35 / 136 = 26%.
That’s a huge drop from roughly 50% in March.
Wouldn’t it be better to increase the success rate?
I understand that at the highest level (e.g. level 120s), they can now make more resources than ever before and sell them at the black market (as well as receive more gold from taxes). I’m speculating that lowering the success rate would therefore compensate for that increase in gold production; thus, rendering the overall gold production of the top players to be roughly the same as it was before the updates.
But nobody is at those high levels and all the change does is irritate everyone at all levels. It is already tedious to sell resources. Lowering the rate only aggravates the user base.

Raiders are fine the way they are. Your faction mates are the ones to blame for triggering the raiders, not the game.

Relics.
Unless a new relic would be added beyond “Advanced”, I suggest that the levels be re-organized.
Junior – level 35 to 60 (or level 30 to 60).
Medium – Level 61 to 90.
Advanced – level 91 to 120.

Level 6 Frost Dragon. 44 experience per 20k gold.
With no leaps and 50 raising, that’s 44 * 50 (common raising, 50 clicks, no leaps) = 2200. That’s what I received when spending 1 million of gold with my first city on one-click gold mass raising with no leaps. The math works out correctly.
Second city, I received three small leaps and received 3388 experience for the 1 million gold spent with the mass raising. That’s 47 common raising + 3 small leaps = 47 * 50 + 3 * (44 * 10) = 2068 + 3 * (440) = 2068 + 1320 = 3388.
So for level 6 frost dragon, the math works out.
For level 6 iron dragon in the above example, that’s 47 common clicks worth 47 * 132 = 6204 plus 3 leaps worth 3 * 1320 = 3960 for a total of 10164. For 50 clicks, that’s 10164 experience. If you received 10430 by clicking the gold mass button one time, then you gained an extra 266 experience while saving 49 key strokes in the process. Seems like a good deal.

I’ll answer my own question. It appears it was deliberate and not a typo. Dagonet has a double buff for archers.

Dagonet has a double buff for archers. It does not list spears like the other heros.
Is this a typo or does Dagonet really have a double buff for archers?

General Questions
I have not seen any influence of int in battles. At the extreme, a level 100 hero can have 400 attributes placed in intelligence. Another level 100 hero can have 400 placed on strength, which would raise the attack by 4000 for that hero. Exact formula to translate that 4000 hero attack into increase in damage by the units is unknown. But I’m going to guess that it is in the range around 4000 / 100 = 40 to 400 / 10 = 400. (Of course, the gears and dragon also have to be taken into account.)
The 4-star mages have a minimum attack of 139 so I’m going to guess that the hero boost is closer to 40 than 400.
40 might not seem much but it is better than zero.

General Questions
Yes, hero attributes matter. Specifically, the attributes that boosts your hero’s armor and attack will improve your units. The influence appear small at first but at higher levels, they become significant as hero attributes improve far greater than improvements in units.
Each hero has 13 gears to boost attributes. The dragon is the 14th gear that can never be removed.
As for int with sorcery and hyno, I had never seen any evidence of its influence. I have also not see anything regarding zodiac or miracles. Now keep in mind that the game had changed over time. For example, wizards are no longer in the game. Perhaps these techs did something back in the day.

I’m getting a red error message pop-up when trying to abandon relics. It appears to be random. I only tried team relics where I am the only member of the team. Obviously, refreshing browser and other default answers don’t do a thing. The only option is to wait out the 6-hour limit that players have on the relics, which is a pain for those of us who work (i.e. we are not around when the 6-hour limit is over). We, of the members of the employed, want to abandon a relic and then taken another to have a full 6-hours when we are at work.

Relics War

The only thing I was trying to say in this conversation is that with the 100’s having no place to progress to they will always stay in the relics and lower levels will never have a chance to get them.
The first two relic zones have a competitive nature to them because there is constantly a coming and going of competition. There is actually the notion that if you work on your skills you can be the strongest in that area so the relics have relevancy.
In the highest set of relics… no matter how much work an 80 does they will NEVER become powerful enough to handle a 100. they are already eliminated by the fact that their gear is so much lower.
That wouldn’t be a problem IF there was a chance to change that. There is not. No matter how many times those lvl 80’s go in to relics there will never be a time that they will have a competitive chance. SO the end result? 80’s stop trying and grind out prestige the old way. Thus, the relic becomes worthless to those that would actually benefit from it.
Competition is only relevant when there’s actually competition. There’s a reason why high school basketball teams don’t play against the NBA. There is no competition there.
Your entire commentary is bogus for a very obvious reason.
Level 80s do not stay at level 80s. Level 100s are stuck at level 100. You do know that level 80 players can still level up, right?
Stop making things up just to argue for handouts.
I can’t help but notice that you failed to fight for the right for level 50s to compete. They don’t have much of a chance against level 70s just like level 80s don’t have a chance against 100s. What’s the explanation for this?
Well, as a level 79, you were the king of the medium relic world, the top dawgs, the unbeatable ones. No level 50 can stop you. But all good things come to an end. After all, FvF, explore, and other aspects of the game would benefit more if your main hero, senate, base, and barracks were at higher levels.
Once you move up to advance relics, you are no longer the top dawg. You are now at the bottom again. And moving up 20 levels to regain that status seems like a huge mountain to climb. One way to shorten that climb is to remove the level 100s so you only have to go up 10 levels to regain the status of top players in relics — not to mention that there would also be fewer total players, increasing the chance of finding an empty relic to take especially on less populated servers.
And to claim that level 100s are not among the many players that “truly benefit it” is also ludicrous. 100s have 20 million and 100 million prestige goals to make. level 80s/90s have 2 million and 8 million goals. Your little goals are not even in the same ballpark.
High school players move up to play pros. And very often, in their first season or two, they stink. Kobe Bryant was not MVP caliber player in his first season. He improved his game, over time. Took years. He did not lobby the commissioner to remove the best players at the time and have them play in a different league so he can have a chance at winning MVPs and championships.

FvF Is Racist!
In other words, whining stops Darks from taking the Meria path.
No doubt Brights have an advantage. That is obviously not in dispute. Brights can take Kent and Essex and be safe to defend without worrying about triggering the raiders. Darks have a choice to make as they can’t take all three cities of Cumbria, Northumbria, and Strat without triggering the raiders.
The claim was that it was not possible to bypass Essex. Darks can take Northumbria and either Cumbria or Strat. Then they can bypass Essex. But Darks chose not to.

FvF Is Racist!
The Bright path to Blackmore, bypassing Strat, is stronghold to Essex to East Anglia to Northumbria to Gwyedd to Cumbia to Blackmore. That’s 6 cities with Blackmore being the 6th. I get that. I also get that in order for Bright to follow this path on a consistent basis, they have to take over Essex.
So what is stopping Darks from doing this: Stronghold to Strat to Northumbria to Mercia to Sussex to Kent to Arthur, which is also 6 cities. So the only way for Darks to skip Essex (which was claimed is not possible) is to take over Northumbria.

Relics War
The purpose of competition is what? To compete, right? It is obviously not competition when the rules are changed to remove players perceived to be unbeatable.
And, of course, I can predict the next rebuttal. It is not fair that level 100s are taking over all of the relics. The 80s don’t have a chance.
So let’s remove the unbeatable from the competition.
Let’s pretend that all of the 100s were killed off so you will never have to worry about them ever again. If they want to continue playing, they are all forced back to level 1 and start over. And from that point on, level 100 is off limits to everyone. So there would be no level 100s anymore. Ever. The level 80s are free!
What is stopping the level 99s from dominating the relics? Magic?
Easy. Kill of the 99s so you won’t have to worry about them, either.
Then the 98s dominate. Kill them off as well. Keeping doing it until there’s nobody left playing the game except for level 80s.
At that point, the game is 100% fair. Right?
Oh wait, it isn’t.
Some level 80s are actually better than others. Some spent time building up their skill cards and not rush up the level rankings. Some did babel towers for many more days than others and therefore have accumulated better equipment. Some did avalon for much longer periods of time and thus were able to level up their gear more. Etc., Etc. , Etc. While others spent money to improve their game character.
So now the next step is to segregate the tough level 80s from the weak level 80s, in order to be “fair”. There would be many, many, many relics levels just for level 80 players only. Players of similar strength and skill will all be grouped together in order to be fair.
At this point, the relic game dies.
People do not want to see a series of ties that take 40 rounds each trying to win relics.

[Castlot Game Info] Tips from Veterans
7. What is the most efficient means of killing off NPCs troops while losing the fewest troops?
First, select the most appropriate talents. Use menace against the NPC spearman, for instance, and feign defeats against the cavs.
Second, don’t send troops that do very little. If you can kill 2.5k NPCs against 100k NPCs units by sending 1k mages and 1k archers only, then only send those. Including 1k cavs and 1k spears simply means you will lose the battle as the losses would be 2.5k NPCs and 4k you. You can also send 1 spear, 1000 archers, 1 cavs, 1000 mages for your attacks — most effective in less busy servers where you don’t have to wait.
Third, use offensive war elements like furycrit and CoD, not defensive war elements like Heal of God, when battling NPCs.

Relics War
If you played on servers with 480 level 80 players — that’s level 80 only, not level 81s and up, then you’d know that a “4th level” will do squat. The volume of players is the result of server mergers.
There’s only 41 slots available for the relics. If the top players take more than 1 relic, then only 21 players or so are taking relics. That’s the top 21 out of 480 level 80 players.
About three weeks ago (maybe more), I saw a level 80 player whine that she couldn’t get any relics because they were all taken by level 100s. She’s one of the 480 level 80s. There are about 500 level 90s and above.
She wanted all of the level 100s to move up to another level.
This level 80 couldn’t do floor 5 of babel. So all she can get is level 60 equipment from babel. She has no yellow skill cards. The level of her cards ranged from level 4 to 6. She had only 4 or so level 80 equipment on her main hero. She probably has none on her two sub-heroes (I can’t see them) as it is typical to put the best gear on your main hero. She had no chance at all in holding a relic against other level 80s, much less the level 100s she wanted to get rid of.
Removing the level 100s would have not have changed her position … unless, of course, she has a level 100 account.
Then there’s the level 90s who complain. At least the level 90 has an easy agenda to figure out. Remove the level 100s and they would become the top dogs and beat up on the level 80s.
