ok, i got the bolt skill.
trying to use it on the dropholder does nothing.
casting it on the gem and dropping the gem on the dropholder does nothing.
wtf?

“shoot with bolts”, but i don’t understand what that means. or is it a skill i’ll get at some later date?

to clarify: I have logged on and off and shut down my computer multiple times during this period, so it’s definitely a server-side problem.

Topic: Asterix & Friends / ultra-slow mail

occasionally, mail will take days to arrive (the presence of attached items seems to make the problem more pronounced, but that may be because i mostly use it for trade)

e.g.
Galyak sent to Infomagix a message on 30.1.2015 08:49
it has arrived at some point very late on feb 1 or early feb 2

Topic: War of Omens / Why did the Devs change how Daily Quest Draft Tickets are awarded?

i think the point was to force people to play more tournaments (if you don’t, you won’t earn tickets).
this was, of course, badly thought out, since tournaments are super-slow and annoying and so i don’t really plan to spend the next month of my life actually playing through these 90+ tickets…

Topic: Asterix & Friends / show collected mail attachments

after I collect attachments from mail, I want to be able to see what was in there before… makes trading less painful when something goes wrong.

(once item is collected, don’t delete its icon and #, just make them transparent or grayscale or something)

Originally posted by TeamAsterix:Mainly you do the quests for progress and for the XP.

what exactly does this mean? what progress? the reward is one-time, and really, really bad.

  • “Benefits”: none (I could have worn or otherwise used the items)
  • Cash: too low (I could have gotten 2-5x as much cash for selling them from inventory)
  • XP: ridiculously low (10xp for quest completion? I get that much from losing a tavern brawl, but i’m level 35 now.)
  • Permanent bonuses: none (I could have upgraded a building or something)

so doing quests just cycles the quests, but the new quests are also really bad, and there’s no penalty for not doing the quests.

so essentially this system exists almost entirely for tricking new players and others who don’t know any better into wasting rare resources, time and energy on something that gives significantly worse results than literally anything else they can be doing with them. This is not good game design.

I currently have a quest that requires me to upgrade my Butcher’s to lv. 7.

I need 8,000 sesterces + 30 wood & straw + 12 entrails.

All for 10 xp and 90 sesterces. 90 SESTERCES.

I get 1.125% of what I spent as a reward. Yeah.

well, at least in that case, you get 1% of expenses and an upgraded building.
when you do a quest that just asks you to get some items, you only get the 1% expenses, and lose all the items in the process, with no lasting benefit to show for it.

but yeah, quest rewards are crap.

Topic: Asterix & Friends / show sell price in description

currently, i have to make an item and then try to sell it from my inventory to see how much it sells for.

would be nice to have this information available before i even begin crafting (especially since it can take hours, not counting the prerequisites)

for the resource-generation buildings (e.g. the quarry, the egypt pire), you only collect as many resources as you can store.
however, the bonus resistance and occasional items are per-click, not based on the amount you collect.
so, especially in egypt, keep your stone at maximum capacity, then feed one to the palace, collect from the pier, feed another one to the palace, collect from the pier again, etc, for dozens of additional resistance points and some extra salt or whatnot per cycle.

I am getting like 10-15 exp, which is pretty good if you manage to complite like 5 quests at once. And if you spend all the stamina before picking up next level to get additional food bonus.

if i just get half the required quest components, sell them, and spend the food i’d have used to get the rest on the egyptian well, I’ll get roughly 2x the money and 2x the XP of actually doing the quest. so, no.

Topic: Asterix & Friends / cancel account

in this case, with a p2w game, it almost certainly isn’t possible – if you want to get those mis-spent helmets back (which is the only thing you can do to your account that you can’t re-farm faster than starting over would take), they want you to pay real $ for them, not allow you to reset your account.

“lots” = 7 boars’ equivalent if you ignore the water, 3 boars otherwise.

Actually, why would you? Why should you? Does someone forces you to complite quests? xD Its just a small bonus, a vision of progression and, probably, a way to get some extra achievement.

the fact that doing them hurts rather than helps your progress in the game is really not obvious, in addition to being counter-intuitive (you have to actually look at what the thing asks for, what it gives, and how much you could get by pressing a few different buttons) – so yes, it does make me somewhat upset even though i don’t have to do them.

that’s kind of horrendous. if you play this game for an hour a day every day for four years, you still won’t have all the (currently existing) cards upgraded. (and also clicking the oak pack 73,000 times will probably eat a week of your life all by itself)

the point of the game is not to “upgrade your cards”, it’s to “come up with a deck that works well” – and since upgraded cards are strictly better than non-upgraded ones, this results in a situation where the upgrades are a means to the end, not the end itself. so, to be able to construct any possible deck to try it out at full power, i have to, roughly speaking, put in one full-time work-year of my life into it. (you don’t have to, of course, but hopefully you see my point)

Topic: Asterix & Friends / really insufficient quest rewards

so I have, for instance, a quest to deliver 8 salt, 8 water, and 8 fish to Baltix, for which he gives me a whopping 15xp and 63 sesterces as a reward.

Which wouldn’t be quite so bad, but the salt sells for 32 apiece from the inventory, the water for 4, and the fish for 10, so (assuming i draw water from the well and hunt rocks for salt) I throw away 368 sesterces’ worth of resources to complete this quest, for a net LOSS upon completion of over 300 cash. the XP is a nice bonus, but the quantity is ridiculously small, and since drawing water from the well doesn’t give me XP for doing something my actual gain is too negligible for words.

Why should I go through all the trouble to do these, again?

also, constructing permanent outposts (e.g. on the bridge) also costs ridiculous quantities of helmets or resistance, which isn’t obvious until you collect enough resources to actually attempt this

can we add a “wait or pay” (or “pay to not wait”) tag? applies mostly to the micropayment games with extremely limited actions, where your only real solution is to either open it every 3 hours to play for a few minutes, or shell out cash.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Inferno Legend] what do fire/ice/magic/etc damage do?

I keep collecting these things in the abyss, and they give +20 to X damage, but it doesn’t appear to affect anything (including minion damage for the appropriate type), and i can’t find any place where the total collected so far is listed, so… is it just eye candy or something?

refreshed for a bit, “logged in”, got a wildly different UI that kicks me back to a different-looking character creation screen. still no idea what characters i have, and attempting to create a new one fails. submitted a bug to the provided email address, maybe they’ll fix it.

getting errors when trying to log in due to high volumes
switched servers – got a few errors, now when i try to register as infomage27 it tells me that the name is in use, and if i try to register as something else it’s telling me that i can’t create any more characters on this account.
except i never logged in, and i have no idea what those characters are (used the random name generator)

what do i do now?

Topic: War of Omens / how to trigger Concede button?

can’t find this in the forums…

if I’m losing, I don’t really need to play this round for 15 more minutes to verify that this happens (e.g. enemy has 6 monsters and resources on the field, and i have nothing), but the concede button doesn’t show up for many rounds to come, resulting in my multiplayer games lasting roughly 2-3x as long as they should

if i just quit, it complains that this may prevent me from playing multiplayer again later (and i’m not sure that this counts as a well-earned win for my opponent)

what’s the solution?

If you have a high speed Internet connection, perhaps the fault lies with the server?

this is demonstrably not true, unless your connection is really slow (if i tweak up the speed of my flash player by a factor of 5, i can buy them just about 5 times faster.)

@125k silver – if you don’t necessarily care what you get, just set up an auto-clicker and go eat lunch or something
