also, constructing permanent outposts (e.g. on the bridge) also costs ridiculous quantities of helmets or resistance, which isn’t obvious until you collect enough resources to actually attempt this

can we add a “wait or pay” (or “pay to not wait”) tag? applies mostly to the micropayment games with extremely limited actions, where your only real solution is to either open it every 3 hours to play for a few minutes, or shell out cash.

Topic: Inferno Legend / what do fire/ice/magic/etc damage do?

I keep collecting these things in the abyss, and they give +20 to X damage, but it doesn’t appear to affect anything (including minion damage for the appropriate type), and i can’t find any place where the total collected so far is listed, so… is it just eye candy or something?

refreshed for a bit, “logged in”, got a wildly different UI that kicks me back to a different-looking character creation screen. still no idea what characters i have, and attempting to create a new one fails. submitted a bug to the provided email address, maybe they’ll fix it.

getting errors when trying to log in due to high volumes
switched servers – got a few errors, now when i try to register as infomage27 it tells me that the name is in use, and if i try to register as something else it’s telling me that i can’t create any more characters on this account.
except i never logged in, and i have no idea what those characters are (used the random name generator)

what do i do now?

Topic: War of Omens / how to trigger Concede button?

can’t find this in the forums…

if I’m losing, I don’t really need to play this round for 15 more minutes to verify that this happens (e.g. enemy has 6 monsters and resources on the field, and i have nothing), but the concede button doesn’t show up for many rounds to come, resulting in my multiplayer games lasting roughly 2-3x as long as they should

if i just quit, it complains that this may prevent me from playing multiplayer again later (and i’m not sure that this counts as a well-earned win for my opponent)

what’s the solution?

If you have a high speed Internet connection, perhaps the fault lies with the server?

this is demonstrably not true, unless your connection is really slow (if i tweak up the speed of my flash player by a factor of 5, i can buy them just about 5 times faster.)

so i just started playing, used my free XP to get my free ship to level 14, sent it into sector 1… and it’s surrounded by enemy ships, and everything is blasting each other, and no damage is done to anything by anything, as far as I can see.

is this a bug? is this how the game should be played? what’s going on?

I concur, the “in a row” quests rather suck. It might be better to just make a bunch of different quests available per difficulty all at once (easy for 300, medium for 700, hard for 1000) and let the player decide which they want to do for that reward

build up a bit, and once you can craft Lump of Wood (10 wood + 1 iron + 1 fuel), make 50 of those, then upgrade them (the upgrade is free). those 50k xp the achievements give will bring you a good part of the way to level 10 (if you’re already level 7 or so, it’s probably going to be enough to push you over)

imho the entire problem is that upgraded cards are strictly better than non-upgraded ones. which makes this game a pay2win by definition – someone who dumps a lot of money has a very good chance to win in combat against anyone who didn’t. yes, you can sort of catch up after a year or two of grinding, but who would want to?

if upgrading cards gave you similarly-powered but different ones, allowing you to build more complex and interesting strategies, it would have made the game infinitely better, and prevented the balance issues that e.g. having rare coins causes.

there are two problems with this.
1) There is NO “surrender” button. so, as a player, whenever I meet Metris in multiplayer I don’t even bother, I just pass until he kills me to save me time
2) If the ToS does not explicitly forbid bots, then it is the devs’ problem. They should fix the ToS. (Kong ToS is a separate issue)

for “intentionally exploiting an oversight in the ToS terminology will be dealt with at the dev’s discretion” – this is a horrible idea. I can’t tell what’s an “oversight” in the ToS terminology vs what’s intended, and punishing players for simply playing the game is just wrong (ok, botting is probably pushing it, but pretty much any other ToS requirement is impossible for players to predict)

I ramped up flash player emulation speed by 3x, my games now take almost 3x less time than before. given that the average game still takes a couple of minutes, this results in significant time savings – i can actually run the dailies in a reasonable amount of time, now.

game vs the PC takes forever. while it’s sort of nice seeing what he plays, i don’t particularly care, since few to no strategies really depend on what he has in his deck, just on what i can see.

speeding up all animations by 3-5x would make the single-player mode much more effective (so I spend the time planning and executing my moves, rather than waiting for the enemy to do the same). ideally, make combat speed configurable – so normal (what it is now), slow (for what people want to learn), and fast (what I’m asking for here).

especially with green infinite-looping, my hand eventually gets huge, and navigating it gets progressively more annoying.
would it make more sense to just show one copy of every card in my hand, and just a counter on top of it? (when I get a new copy of the card, the entire stack is moved to the right-most position and incremented by 1)

(note: this may need to be disabled for temporary cards such as ones drawn by Sibylline Scrolls)

I keep getting a popup along the lines of “<user> defeated <monster> and dealt a heavy blow to the demon forces”.

This in itself isn’t so bad, but it’s located directly on top of other UI elements, and keeps popping up every second or so even if i close it

makes mining a pain, makes clicking things (e.g. the Gift button) on the main screen a pain, etc, etc.

How do I turn it off?
