The whole Final Fantasy series has just fantastic soundtrack, but specially the SNES Final Fantasy VI

Zelda: Ocarina of Time is also nice. And of course, the classical tunes I just love: Tetris tune, Mario tune, and the list goes on…

By the way, I really got curious about this Guilty Gear series. Going to check that out, for sure. Good music always makes the game.

Was the game appropriate or not?

Maybe not, but who cares? It’s just a game, and plus it’s not like it doesn’t happen in real life, we DO know and DO realize that pedopriest DO exist, there’s no denying it. The game is not there to discuss about religion or anything like that. It was supposed to delight people. And I found it very nice. Why cause all this polemic? It’s overreacting, leave the game alone. If people doesn’t like it, then good! They can put their opinion on that, but censoring the game and blocking the account is just an extreme measure. Of course there must be censorship, however a controlled one. Just go and censorship every game alike that one is a totally narrow-minded attitude, and narrow-mindness is just so over nowadays.

Genres: Mostly RPGs that have really long and complex storyline, with a lot of characters and talking situations (i prefer a good story than game action. Weird, I know)

A time limit could work. Allow people to rate only once every 5 minutes or something. This would totally discourage mass raters, since it would take 1 entire hour to get 60 points, and the people who are serious raters would still be able to play the games without much trouble.

NorthernPolarity, it discourages me to mass rate, too, but so does the 5 point. I just don’t think it’s fair, and like I said before, one of the most enjoyable things to do on Kongregate is go out there and rate games and write reviews, but also playing the games!

Now, the mass raters are not like us regular users. They don’t care about any of that, they just want points, points, a lot of points, and they will still mass rate, but they will get fewer points. Don’t doubt on that.

But the 1 point per rating thing is not gonna stop mass rating. Mass raters will still do it, except they will get fewer points for that. I totally agree with Dragily. The 5 points made step out of the featured games page and look for new developers and games, and I was often pissed, either because a game I thought was really great got bad ratings or because I played games so terrible they would even make me mad.

I just don’t do that anynore. It totally took away the point of Kongregate for me. And it was not getting to the top score list, it was rating, reviewing and encouraging new developers. It was really what caught into me about Kongregate, looking at flash critically. No other flash games site does that (except Newgrounds).

Well, I’m sorry to say this, but a lot of people choke when eating chicken. Ok, that one wasn’t funny.

I know that a lot of people just run through the games and rate them without even seeing… but this reduction does not make the situation any better, either. And like I said before, the people who already rated the games got 5 points, while the new raters get only 1 and that is so damn unfair.

You mean like a system where reviews are featured and awarded points just like games are? Doesn’t sound bad. However, I still think the best to do is go back to normal. If cheaters are really the biggest issue, then why weren’t the referral points lowered down to one, too? There a lot of cheaters who sign up fake accounts of their own. I don’t feel like rating games anymore. I played some bad games that were no fun at all, but I still played them because I knew I was gonna get 5 points out of ratings. But now, not only have I stopped playing the bad games, but also stopped rating the good games! Why should I rate things for such miserable reward? It takes both time and effort to rate (this may sound like overreacting, but it is not, believe me)

And by doing this, you create an issue just as big as cheaters. See, facelesscoward, you said that the system suggested by Dragily would artificially increase the level gap between new and old users, but the 1-point-per-rating thing itself does that, too! I mean, the old users got 5 points for rating a certain game. The new users would come in and rate that same game for only 1 point! It’s a 4-point difference. And plus, the number of new users signing up to Kongregate will reduce, and FOR CERTAIN. They would feel discouraged because the biggest source of points for newbis is the game ratings, and taking that source away from them would make them quit trying to reach high levels.

I just think that this whole thing is a huge mistake. Please go back to the old punctuation system.
