Reload game inside of window
Store the movie clips in an array while creating them. When you want to reset, remove those movie clips by iterating trough the array and shorten it by using splice (or a similar function). There are many ways of doing it, so try to experiment.

When I said “bump if you must” I didn’t mean “bump every 24 hours”.
When people need someone for a project they don’t just look at the first page, they usually search the forum.
And instead of writing “bump”, you could have posted examples of your work. That would have gotten you much more attention.

1. The point is that a band whose music gets stolen all the time gives away an album for the sake of bettering their relationship with fans, given your logic they should have put DRM all over those songs and charged for them, just because they can. If you think every bit of your work has to be paid for then you aren’t going anywhere. If someone who can sell their music (and a lot of it) gives it away to get ahead, then a relative nobody (no offense Kool_A1d) shouldn’t think that getting paid is the only thing that matters. Public relations play a big part in business and an even bigger part in music.

This morning, DiS has woken up bleary-eyed to the news that music industry body, the IFPI, has released a report which claims that more than 40 billion songs were illegally downloaded in 2008.
This huge figure equates to 95% of all music downloads and is the same percentage of illegal downloads which were made in 2007, despite government action and the growth of legal sales and compelling alternatives to P2P.
Did you just bang your head against the keyboard? If you’re going to call out my claims do some research beforehand.

4. Learn the difference between royalties and album/song sales. Royalties are (most of the time) paid by legal entities and imply a commercial use and are thus subject to different laws and easier to make claims for. Finding a band that uses a part of your song and getting paid for it is “relatively easy”. Battling all out piracy is not. That’s why I said he shouldn’t be so concerned about it. If a band or a company steals a part of their songs it’s “relatively easy” to get paid, when people start downloading their song all over the internet there’s nothing they can do, it’s a “necessary evil”. People that like their stuff will support them in one way or the other, and to those that won’t they can’t do anything.
If you still don’t get what I’m trying to say read a few articles about how game companies made life complicated for paying customers by implementing draconian anti-pirating measures (starforce comes to mind) just to have them cracked a few weeks later and pose no obstacle for pirates, but still hassle the paying customers.
If someone took my game and downloaded it to their computer and played it, I wouldn’t mind. If it’s truly good some of those “pirates” will want to support me. On the other hand if someone took my game, plastered their name over it, put it on their website and sold it, I would take action.
The bottom line is that by trying to prevent something that most likely won’t happen and is “relatively easy” to deal with by hiding your work will cause you more harm than good.

Further Collison Problems.
The “things” in the brackets are parameters. A function call requires no/one/several parameters, of which some can be optional (depending on the function). If you know how to use the regular hitTest function then you already know how to set a parameter. You should use the documentation (F1) and look at what parameters the hitTest function can take. Or in case of AS3 try the upper answer.
Documentation is your friend. Learn to use it, you’ll avoid a lot of problems.

I looked at the site and don’t see where you found the price of 100$. I found that you can copyright your music online on that site for 35$ so no mailing and it’s cheaper and faster. But if you’re gonna register do it before Aug.1 because it’ll get a little bit more expensive.
As for what steevey said. It’s true that you won’t make much money of flash games unless you get involved in a big project especially since your style of music is not suited for all types of games. Try posting on sites like gamedev.net and indiegamer forums (search some more) that should get you a wider audience. Your best bet for making some start up money would be to get a gig at a local bar or similar type of establishment. Prices around my area are around 50-300€ per gig depending on how good your band is/how much people they attract/how large is the place. This is of course for smaller bands that mainly focus on playing covers.

“In layman’s terms” it costs 45$ to copyright a song/album.

By hiding your songs you aren’t protecting your rights you are giving someone the opportunity to claim your work as theirs because nobody knows that you made it. Fame/popularity is the best protection against that kind of theft, sure anybody can claim that they made a song by U2 but anyone with half a brain can see what is really happening. So again friendly advice: copyright your songs (if automatic copyright is not enough for you) but give people the chance to hear your music, the more people hear it the safer you are form someone taking credit for your work.

Music theft happens all the time, and that’s why you shouldn’t be so concerned about it. It is a well known fact that most music is downloaded/torrented but musicians still have money! How, you ask? Well for one by not acting like jerks on a public forum, and having a good relationship with their fans. Most people will by your music if they like your band. Not to mention concerts and promotional merchandise. Threatening around with copyright won’t do your band any good, look at the image that the drummer of Metallica Lars got after confronting Napster. I’m not saying you shouldn’t protect what’s yours, just don’t get in peoples face about it because the first thing they’ll want to do is steal, just to spite you.
If you still “don’t give a crap” to listen to some friendly advice than all I can say is good luck, and I truly hope that people that try to help you in the future don’t get the same treatment.

1. Stop being paranoid.
2. For you as a band to get exposure you must make your songs available for listening.
3. Google a little how to manage and publicize a new band.
4. Get a MySpace page for your band and put your songs there. That’s the easiest/most popular way to get some publicity these days and it is a good place to have as referral page/portfolio.
5. You can’t really do much with a creative rights license unless you got money to backup your claims, and even then it’s a gable.
6. Worry if people don’t want to steal your songs, that’s a pretty good sign that your music sucks.
Just a little friendly advice…

Yeah right… I’m not reading a wall of text.
I’m not going to flame, I was countering your point. You said “Looking at bits of relevant code IMO is far more helpful than sifting through tutorials”, relevant code is shown in the mentioned tutorial, so no sifting is required and as you said he is just beginning and he needs to grasp the basic, of which most are covered in the shooterials in one of the most beginner friendly ways I’ve seen.
If you aren’t willing/experienced enough to “hold his hand” until he learns the basics, don’t go suggesting that he skips a tutorial and that someone hands him a snippet because you think that’s the best way to learn.

Programming is not about “tricks” or people handing you code, it’s about using what you’ve learned in as many ways as possible and building on that knowledge.
