What's your most successful team composition?
I like my critical-hit strategy:
Warrior – Champion: Nice damage-dealing tank; mainly have him cleave and power attack/Charge whatever’s left. Having Annihilator’s set and Sword of Omens with a few Dilaera shards got him a good 26% crit chance which can add heavily to damage. “Push Harder” really helps build up power when needed to anyone in your party (specially to get Assassin to do consecutive sneak assaults)
Rogue – Assassin: Get all the critical-hit gear you can get. With his Deadly stance I’ve got him as much as 40-45% critical chance with 400% critical hit damage. Back row says bye-bye in the first turn. I did not like the poison build for this guy, mainly because it requires getting him intellect, which is a waste considering he can get most advantage from critical hitting. At level 30 he can easily deal over 1.3k damage when doing criticals :3 I got him Stalker’s armour and Demon’s Tooth which deals beautiful damage.
Mage – Sorcerer: While he falls short when it comes to dealing massive damage (compared to Sin and Warrior), he’s a strategic character. Leech Wand works wonders (Lightning Storm=full health). But he has Cleansing Flame (-1 buff on enemies) and power syphon: his main function is to cancel any enemy buffs, drain power from bosses, and kill spares with incinerate/lightning storm/electrocute. His equipments give me some extra Free Skill chance (33%) and together with power steal he’s hard to get on low mana.
Ranger – Warden: Of course, he’s the main supportive character. Build is mainly intellect. A bit of everything helps him stay alive in the case when he’s targeted (especially by bosses): damage protection, healing lore, etc. If he dies, my party can well be screwed, so he’s always surrounded by other characters. His Nature Balm has a whooping 120+ health per second regeneration and envenomed arrow deals decent damage in 6 seconds (great if your party is full health and you’re wondering what to do with this guy’s turn). Thorns and Snare are good too, specially since Thorns duration is so great.
I got to waves 80+ with this party (Extreme). I’m sure, though, I would have got a little bit further by replacing the Sorcerer with a Cleric; once my Warden died it was just matter of time before one by one the rest fell.

How come being motivated to test new strategies is a bad thing?

… Eagle Wings?
Edit: Eagle Wings is the one Exar_Kun meant, but i take it since he don’t knows the name.
Yes, indeed, Eagle Wings :D It has more than 23 power, but less than 42. The two clue is because it’s DOUBLE, and also because it teaches TWO skills. 6th clue was gonna be something related to it being a craftable item.

My take on Karnos, or, why Sharla doesn't suck.

Rofl at the necroing :D Anyway, you guys are too strategic sometimes. Honestly, Karnos is better faced off with pure power. A Mardek w/ Zach/Gloria/Legion/Elwyen combination (take whichever out, doesn’t matter) kicks his ass in like… 5 turns?

Nope, not quite. On your question:
If you post a guess, then the Challenger declares you to be incorrect and posts a new clue, and then you post again, you are not double posting.
If you post a guess, and then post another guess 4+ hours later, you are not double posting
Chain posting is also disallowed.
You are considered chain posting if you post 4 or more guesses within the space of 3 hours. Seriously, go do something else for a while, and give the other participants a chance to play!

Well, I was pretty sure that it was 24 hours after being declared correct, not after my post. Since it’s been 22 hours since Darth declared me correct, then time isn’t up? Besides, Darth said 5 hours ago: “7 hours left”. So I still had 2 hours?
And is that a sarcastic guess? In any case, no.

No and No.
Anyway, Darth, I am of the idea that either way, on a basis of matureness, we shouldn’t make it impossible to guess (after clues 3rd and 4th, most probably you guys will guess mine, and if by 5th and 6th you don’t, SHAME ON YOU). It’s just a game, ffs :P I don’t think that any “sanction” should be applied for making an impossible challenge. But it takes the fun away for the rest.
By the way, I have a few suggestions for the star system. Give me your opinion, in favour or against :)
- First, take away the star bonus for going unsolved on a challenge; that way there’s no reward for making an impossible challenge.
- Grant the challenger one star, regardless of how he got to being challenger; otherwise, there’s no real “incentive” to be a challenger, since you wouldn’t be able to earn any stars (per the first suggestion I made). If someone gets to challenger because he guessed correctly, he gets the star either way (together with the star(s) from guessing). But ONLY if the challenge goes all the way until the end (what I mean is; if a challenger posts a clue, then disappears for a week and somebody else becomes challenger due to inactivity, the first challenger doesn’t get the star; the second one does, provided [again] his challenge goes all the way until the end, and so on)
- Give stars based on the amount of clues posted. It’s not the same to answer correctly a challenge with one or two clues, as it is to answer one with five or six clues. My advice would be: 4 stars for 1-2 clues, 2 for 3-4, and 1 for 5-6.
- Don’t apply any change as retroactive (stars earnt are already earnt; if rules are changed, such rules apply as of now).

Well, indeed, incorrect :P <ot> It wouldn’t be fun if one clue were enough, but I do hope that if nobody guesses it, the clues make a bit more sense and you get the feeling that with the clues you could have guessed. I honestly care little to nothing about “stars”. </ot>
