Topic: Sandbox Hero / Still can't save levels because of bug

Hey I did what SkillBc said and it worked! Awesome! Now time to build some levels…

Topic: Realm of the Mad God / Now they want my email? really?

I came back after not playing for awhile, and Nexus refuses to load if I don’t give them an email? My Kong acct should be enough. It was always enough before, for EVERY other game on Kongregate.

Kabam is ruining this game. I’m not playing if they need an email. This is stupid. RotMG was a good game at one time.

Topic: Sandbox Hero / Still can't save levels because of bug

I reported this twice on the bug report thread, but it hasn’t been fixed.

When I hit the save button a gray box comes up, but there’s no way to save. Way back in build 57 there were green bars with save slots under them, but since the Build 58 update, I just get the gray box and still can’t save. This is in both Firefox and Chrome, Windows 7.

Building levels is my favorite part of the game. If I can’t do that there’s no point in playing. I have been checking back to see if this gets fixed. Maybe if I make a topic instead of posting in the Bug Report thread someone will see this.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Glean 2] aberrant matter and plasma

I don’t know, I just found aberrant matter around 200m deep in an aquatic planet. I think it can occur anywhere.

Use a radar pulse, aberrant matter (and strange gloop) will have the same icon as those bugs that blow up when you drill into them.

Topic: Sandbox Hero / Bug Report Thread

Like many others have said, I can’t save. A gray box comes up and does nothing. This has been true for Builds 58, 59, 60.

Back in Build 57, there were green category bars in the gray box and there were save slots by the green bars. The problem is that the button to make green category bars is on the green bars themselves. If there’s no green bars, there’s no way to make a green category to save under, and no way to save.

This seems like an easy fix, just add a “make new category” button or something. I hope this thread is still being watched.

Topic: Astroflux / rising upgradee prices when you upgrade

Well, this is exactly the reason I quit playing this game. ALL the upgrades shouldn’t go up when you upgrade, it should just cost more for higher level upgrades like every other game.

I got a message saying to try this game again because it’s been improved so I thought this problem was fixed. But when I upgraded, sure enough, ALL the upgrades went up. Damn, that’s too bad.

This problem totally ruins the game for me. Sorry to necro this thread, but it was the exact same complaint I was going to post. I would play this all the time if this problem was taken out of the game.

Having the same problem as MoMo57, i was just about to post a screenshot of the same thing. I can’t save maps locally, I have to publish them or lose them.

There used to be green bars that were like folders and I could save levels under there, but they’re gone.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Backyard Monsters] Kixeye halts development of Backyard Monsters (a Moderator confirmed exclusive)

I’d really like to see Kixeye (They are a company, not a person) go out of business. I’m surprised what they did to Kongregate gamers didn’t generate a more widespread backlash on the Internets, it was concentrated mostly here at Kongregate. Real gamers lost real money. Kixeye gave no real answers, just took our money and ran. It’s a damn shame they are still out there developing crappy games on Facebook and scamming people for money.

Topic: Kongregate / The Fall of the Casual Collective.

Isn’t CC related to Kixeye somehow, as in the people who abandoned Backyard Monsters and turned their backs on Kongregate and the players who spent real money and many hours on that game?

If they’re part of the same company then good riddance. Karma.

Topic: Kongregate / Poor Choice for Kongregate Advertisements?

Heh. I don’t see anything wrong with it. Sorry, but they’re just boobs.

A lot of people that play Kong are adults, and I always considered this site to be kind of PG13 rated. There was a game called “Don’t sh&t your pants” awhile back. If they started to go crazy censoring content like you’re suggesting, I would leave and never come back.

That’s really wrong about the lost Kreds though. I hope you get them back.

Topic: General Gaming / Space Croissant-major bug.

Even though it’s kind of a knockoff of Bit Dungeon, Space Croissant was a great roguelike. But whenever I quit and then load my game I get “luck=NaN”, and my luck stat goes to zero. I’ve tried it several times, and it happens every time.

I use a luck-based build, so this is bad. But crickets from the developer. This bug is consistent and reproduceable, so it should be fixable. I hope they fix it soon because this is a good game.

Topic: Kongregate / PETITION: stop badging MMOs where you have to wait

Hey, after all these posts, I’m the first one…
Signs the Petition

I really hate when I’m playing a game and… what? It says “I’m unable to do anything else.” But that’s a lie. The game could let me keep playing, but the devs chose to put in an artificial “energy” mechanism. And there’s the $Cash$ button prominently displayed.

It’s not because we don’t like a certain genre. Real MMO’s are OK. Pay2Win or Pay2Play are not. Especially when the game is almost unplayable without paying, like that hero game or that one Pokemon-like game where you have to pay to have more than one monster. I’ll just get Pokemon Black instead. Don’t get me started on Running Fred.

I know that devs have to make money. I know that many of them are broke, the nerd version of starving artists. But when games become cashgrabby and that becomes the norm, it brings down the quality of all games on Kong as a whole. Like every CCG put on Kong in the last 2 years except HD Xyth. By badging games that aren’t fun unless you pay, Kongregate knowingly or unknowingly endorses a business model that ruins the gaming experience.

Nanowar was a good game, until they disabled save. I liked the game, but I’m tired of having to do it all over again every time.

Topic: Platform Racing 2 / Platform Racing 3.0 ideas (Apparently official thread)

More campaign levels. Set it up in such a way so that other people actually play the custom levels, right now it’s hard to get a 4-player game going on anything but campaign levels. Moving blocks would be cool. Add ONE new weapon/item, but don’t get so crazy that it changes the gameplay too much.

Topic: General Gaming / Wii Dissapointing?

Wii is awesome, and the most fun to play of the three systems. I got mine January of last year, I still play it everyday. Nobody’s mentioned Virtual Console yet, I’m always doing SMB speedruns or playing 5-players on Bomberman 93. And of course, Wii sports is great to play even with people who don’t normally play vg’s. If you like classic games, or having your friends over to play games, it’s a must have.

There are drawbacks though, like a mountain of crap third-party titles. And the fact that IGN and Game Informer’s reviews of Wii games are artificially low (add 1 to their rating to get the REAL rating), sure doesn’t help you sort through the crap to find good games like No More Heroes.

But if you’re one of those people that just sits there and plays Halo for 10 hours a day, or that thinks graphics/blood are more important than enjoyable gameplay, Wii is not for you.

Topic: General Gaming / Stolen Games

What’s /b/? Nightingale is from Ebaums, I’ve seen him there.

One of the biggest problems with this site is people that accuse new games of being stolen when they’re not. I’ve seen games get deleted that weren’t really stolen. Also, there are games tagged as “stolen” by the anti-piracy crowd, which is always the same 8-9 people, that were later found not to be, so they sit there and rot with an undeserved 1-2 star rating.

Topic: Kongregate / Solution for unfair ratings

Personally, I don’t think you should rate a game if it doesn’t load. Often times it’s Kongregate’s fault, so the game shouldn’t be judged based on a Kongregate issue.

Good point, didn’t really think of that. So I went to Crazymonkeygames.com and tried it, won’t load there either, so my rating stands. All the other games I 1-starred because they won’t load have already been fixed, and I already upped my rating for those.

I know I’m harsh when rating games, but aren’t some of these people making flash games eventually going to move on to work bigger and better games that people pay money for? I mean, you’ll never find a kid that says “I want to be a Flash game developer when I grow up”. If we reward people with high ratings now for games that aren’t very good or that have compatibility issues, that could translate into an epidemic of crappy video games in the future.

So really, I’m just looking our for the future of video games…. or something like that 0_o

Topic: Kongregate / Solution for unfair ratings

“Unfair ratings”… is there really such a thing? TT4 wouldn’t load on my computer, so I gave it a 1. (not to mention that I really don’t like the TT series) Making sure that a game actually works and people can actually play it should be priority #1. WHen the new Smash Bros. came out for Wii and it didn’t work on my console, I was rightfully pissed. Same with TT4 even though it’s free, now I can’t get the card and I’ll be at a disadvantage when Kongai comes out.

As for levels, I’m level 14 and I’m not a n00b. I had to get a lot of badges over several months to get to 14. Elitism is really killing the internets, especially in online gaming communites.

I will rate games the way I want to rate them, and so should everyone else. I also hope most people disregard the “zomg don’t rate this game down1” comments. If I give a game a 1 because I feel it deserves a 1, that’s not unfair.

Topic: Kongregate / Greg's Plea to the Kongregate Community

So I gotta say it…

A game being too hard to the point where gameplay suffers, is a valid reason to rate it down. I play games cause they’re fun. When a game feels more like work than play, I give it a lower rating.

So is this game too hard? I don’t know, because it won’t load. When a game won’t load, it’s an automatic 1/5 from me. When the issue is fixed, I adjust my rating back up. Developing a game is hard work for sure, but if a game doesn’t work on my computer, then what’s the point? I know I’m being harsh, but if the people developing these games move on to make other games later on that people pay money for, I guarantee that compatibility issues will piss people off.

A flash game should work on all computers that have Flash, and that includes those running Linux. Period.
