The secret to higher damage in raids and factions!!!

Originally posted by **derkjerk:**erm, actually crafty said something and soular said his example proves what crafty says is wrong, so “you made a claim, so it’s up to you to prove that it’s true” means soular has to prove that his example does indeed prove crafty is wrong. also, the whole 15+ thing has been discussed already in these forums http://www.kongregate.com/forums/65-tyrant/topics/155993-faction-war-points?page=1 and most ppl replying agreed it worked so crafty’s theory has kinda already been proven. just sayin’.

I was originally not gonna get involved with this, since I don’t really care about the points equation, and I only wanted to correct craftymofo’s misconception about where the burden of proof lies.

In response to your comment, a bit of math:

15 (base points)

a = damage dealt to commander in the final turn

y = Amount of points you get from the battle; 16 ≤ y ≤ 25

As seen above, craftymofo’s suggestion is that the formula, in its **entirety**, is:

y = 15 +a

If you’ve ever had a case where y ≠ 15 + a, which has been the case for many people, you’d know that craftymofo’s suggestion is not entirely correct. Like Soularmadyl correctly said:

Originally posted by **Soularmadyl:**Quite easy to disprove your formula, just rally a unit up to 10 attack on an empty commander AND take over 15 turns (otherwise u’d only be supporting my theory) just to be sure and LOOK, Y I GET ONLY 20 POINT??

—> so even if that is part of the formula it’s incomplete

Also even if last hit is a 1 or 2, it’s very common to get ~ 20 points on a faction war win, so it can’t be just 15+damage

Because of additional variables (e.g. speed), the formula is closer to being:

y = 15 + a + b + c +[…]

While you will often get y = 15 + a, it’s not because that’s the entirety of the formula, but just because the other variables just equalled 0.

So while Soularmadyl has yet to prove the entirety of his/her hypothesis, craftymofo failed to prove his/her at all, and was even proven incorrect, as there’s more to the formula than what s/he was suggesting. You’ve even admitted to this yourself:

i agree, extras are involved. for example, destroying all cards in opponents deck gives more points added onto that 15+.

Thus far, Tuxedo has been the one giving the best simplified explanation as to why the additional variables differ, and why there’s no exact working formula. Even though craftymofo’s suggestion is a good rule of thumb, it’s not entirely correct.
