Just curious as to what people’s thoughts on this were. I’ve had an account for almost 4 years but I still have yet to get one…

Topic: General Gaming / Pingy the Ping Idle RPG - suggestions?

Some suggestions:

1. Make an easier way to reset the skool combo so we don’t have to refresh the page if we’re going for a quest.

2. Make whale farming not so useless. Maybe add an “auto-fishing” feature.

3. Make selling burgers easier. I have about 1.5k burgers and it’s going to take me forever to sell them. Maybe add an “auto-sell” feature?

4. The shooting range is way too difficult, especially compared to the seal game. I’m also puzzled that the level 40 and 50 maps cost more then the 60 and 70 maps.

5. Make quest rewards higher or at least have them scale. Busting your butt to get a really hard quest only to get 1000 exp at level 50 is pretty useless.

Also, can anyone explain how so many people have over 10,000 minutes play when the game has only been out for 6 days (about 8,000 minutes)?

pop bands that pose as punk bands (green day, blink-182, pink, avril lavigne, etc.)

people who think they’re being “different” by listening to mainstream prog rock bands like tool or dream theater

almost all self proclaimed “indie” music and associated hipsters

and of course any scene bands

Topic: Serious Discussion / What makes poor people poor?

Poor people feel bad for themselves and don’t do anything about it…

May I remind you of the “working poor”-problem? That are people which have 2 or more jobs, working for at least 60 hours per week and can hardly afford their rent. What should they do?

Stop paying for cable TV, internet, phone service, unneccissary electronics(TV’s, radios, computers, sound systems, ipods, palm pilots, cell phones, etc.). The only things people really require are clean water, food, and a bed. Everything beyond that is solely there for convenience. If the poor would actually submit themselves to living with what is truly the bare essentials for a little while, they would find themselves with much more money. The key is being intelligent with your money. Not squandering it on some new TV or car, but saving up, getting educated, and getting a better job. The library has free books and internet access(at least the ones near where I live do; I don’t know enough about the U.S. to categorically claim anything about its libraries), and people can effectively teach themselves anything if they wanted to put forth the effort.

I’m also disgusted with the impoverished that decide they just HAVE to have 4 kids. If you can’t provide for a child, stop having sex. It’s not a difficult (or wacky) idea. If you absolutely must have sex(which isn’t a requirement to live, but meh) go to the gas station and buy a condom. They aren’t nearly as expensive as raising a child.

Now, I’m sure someone will say “What about Sally who has no kids, but works three jobs and can barely afford to pay her rent or feed herself”, and honestly, if Sally is working three jobs and can’t afford to pay her rent or feed herself, she’s either living in an apartment that is way out of her price range, eating food that is way out of her price range, or working illegal jobs that pay below minimum wage.

I’ve been working at ONE minimum wage job for about a year now, and I’ve yet to spend any of the money. Each month, I come off with about $650.00. I’ve had friends that moved out of their parents homes and started living in a legitimate apartment complex(not some kind of college housing or something) and their monthly rent cost was about $300. Food costs for one person for a month should be at or below about $250 per week, though that’s more of a guess on my part(Averaging about $60.00 a week on food, which I have done before. It’s hard, but it’s doable). SO, total costs, barring any kind of error on my part(which I don’t doubt) is about $550.00. That leaves 100 free to spend on whatever you want. This is from ONE, PART TIME, MINIMUM WAGE job. An adult not in school can get a FULL TIME, NON-MINIMUM WAGE job with ease, and it’s even easier for them to get several jobs, rather than being limited to one.

I’m aware that I’m ignoring taxes and car costs/car insurance(which aren’t necessary to your survival or a job…Busses and your feet are excellent ways to get around.), and other types of insurance(Also not “necessary”, though some, like health insurance, can be very beneficial.), or sudden emergencies. On the flip-side, I’m ignoring government aid, family aid, and investments(Which, at these money-levels, are probably pretty pointless anyway). The basic premise still stands though. A high-school student can work a part time job and make enough money to survive on their own, so why can’t the impoverished?

do you seriously think that the poor are spending their money on the newest plasma tv

single-parent minorities are screwed because the current standard of living assumes that there are two working parents supplying income for the household. It is literally impossible for someone to live off minimum wage.

Now I’m not saying that we should directly insult the church in this thread, however I am questioning why we have both freedom of speech and freedom of religion, yet criticizing Christianity is still considered a terrible thing in America. Our founding fathers may have actually encouraged stating our beliefs on how we view religion. I find it strange how Christianity tries to take over the government and also pretends to be the “real America”

Okay… I have a serious problem with what you are saying… and that problem is… well, what are you saying??

Christianity is criticized all the time in America. They kick Christianity out of schools due to separation of Church and State and yet welcome Islam and many other religions. They rip apart any public display of Christianity they can legally get there hand on. Anybody that runs for public office being a professed Christian (note: conservative only) is ripped to shreds by the media. Anything that is Anti-Christian is given a pass by the media and such groups as the ACLU. If you havn’t noticed, this freedom of religion is provided to every other religion much more than Christians.

You find it strange that the Christians try to take over the government…. Wow, we havn’t tried to take over the Government in…well…hmm, we have never tried to take over the government. This real America you speak of just happens to line up with the constitution and the writings of our founding fathers. Is it a Christian only mentality that wants lower and fairer taxes, a secure border, free-trade, and integrity and accountability in our leadership?

lol its funny when people try to portray Christianity as the victim

religious affiliation of congress:

number of atheist congressmen = 0

number of christian presidents – 40 out of 44 (91%)
number of atheist presidents – 0 out of 44 (0%)

(from here)

on an end note, just gonna leave this here…
