For those who doesnt know me then:
- I am old…really, really old
- I am an engineer and have been one since I took my first steps
- I am very, very careful when it comes stating " I am sure" or “I know”.
- Sometimes I am biased – when it comes to simplicity in pathing design and size of NEC I am clearly biased towards keeping it simple and having as long NEC path(ing) as possible.
- Monster do path. Here I am sure since there is actually an algorithm in the code for how the monsters choose targets. Good experiments have also been conducted on the topic of pathing length.
- Randomly building corridors and wall sections (as in not understanding and using known monster pathing algorithms and pathing behaviour) with wall elements are not really a good way from an engineering perspective to get pathing that works good. I have a feeling that many players do it like this and there is no fault in that really since this is a GAME, and beeing as singleminded as I am regarding the engineering side will most likely destroy the fun for many players.
- Monsters get crazy (or lazy) sometimes and forget about pathing and makes their own decisions. Like Daves on strike not using rockets etc.

This is a well know bug. Basically: Do NOT pick shrooms when upgrading TH. If you get this extra “free worker” – refresh asap!

Wormzers are a pain in the butt and frankly – I don´t know. But depth and spread will always make it so that monsters will have to travel longer.
Teras will chew up the NEC – which is exactly what I want to happen.
Note that I don´t claim that my (stolen) design is better than any other design that is done according to a plan supported by the mechanics of the game.

Of course there could be more of “these people”, but I have seen this kind of account mix-ups and ghost yards left behind in Map Room 1 for other players as well. I did experience a similar thing myself when I had several tabs open in Firefox and changed account on one tab but not the other.
So having two accounts and getting account mix-up is not that unusual (I saw another player commenting on the same thing one or two days ago in the chat. He was very surprised when the wrong yard popped up when clicking the home avatar).

P.S. Only of couple of hexes from my main I have two OPs just sitting there with no owner. I have looked all over the map but found no main. So left over glitches do occur in this game and could possibly be because of a data base update operation going pear-shaped due to loss of connectivity.

I have posted a long post on this topic a couple of pages back but it would be yet another game-breaker if we who rebuilt bases built crazy maxed super-lvl 56 bases for everyone. The correct way (in my opinion) is that rebuilds are made in such a fashion that the player we rebuild a base for does not gain any significant advantage by this action. One could argue that if a player has been without his base for – lets say two weeks – he would have advanced in build levels during that time but I don´t see that as a problem because if a player had e.g RGs lvl5, lvl 6 and a few lvl 7 it is too much micromanagement when we rebuild so in such a case the player would receive all RGs lvl 7.

Note also that at least I do not include base design in the rebuild. That is up to the player. Rebuilding a base without the design part takes anyhow about three hours if one does it according to a spec and our time is better spent starting to help the next in line.

(Note also that I am fully aware that someone out there got the bright idea to claim that he had a base 0 without having it and then let us insta-build a base for him. I am not stupid just because I am old…)

I understand your frustration but the explanation is that I am only dealing with Negative RGs and rebuilding bases for those that has requested so. I have no possiblity to fix Base 0 faults.
I get my tasks in basically two ways – either from Dummy or by reading this thread and pm:ing those with either neg RGs or those with explicit request for a rebuilt base.
One problem is that I sometimes don´t get any answers….

No, I am not implying that by the RG example. But since the image representation for towers does not change with level its not possible by looking at the towers whether they are lvl 1 or lvl 10. So one of the few things where you can deduce build level without attacking and checking dmg points are the RGs. Thus I choose level of RGs as something to check when you look at a base. (I could also have exemplified with “black diamond walls” since its very hard to get resources for 300 BD before e.g lvl 40)

It becomes a risk judgement for anyone scouting their surroundings. A lvl 39/40 yard that seems “maxed” is a higher risk than a lvl 39/40 yard with lower development level.

I can agree that I should have phrased it " an indication of what might be a hacked/hackers base".


And now lets crunch some numbers:

- Resources isn´t the problem when building Harvesters – it is game-time. Evolving 24 harvesters to lvl 10 takes grand total 168 workdays. ( deduct 20% for max help on all builds) .If you have two workers fully dedicated for harvesters upgrades it will take 67 game-days. If you have three workers fully dedicated it will take 45 gamedays. I.e an account newer than 45 days can not really have all RGs lvl 10. (It can be a yard that we have rebuilt for someone of course as a replacement for a broken yard.

- Resources ARE the problem when building e.g snipers/cannons. Making all 6 +6 snipers/cannons lvl 10 will require grand total 2 bil resources and since 1 resources equals 1 xp it´s impossible to get all 6 + 6 to lvl 10 before a yard is lvl 42. ( A lvl 42 yard has the xp span of 2 bil to 2.5 bil).

That depends on how much effort/resources one is willing to throw into an attacked paired with how effective the design is.
It is also hard to cata big holes in a RG NEC beacuse of RG high health. If this combined with pathing over a fully expanded yard and eye-ra baits around perimeter it is hard to drop monsters and make them behave as planned for an attacker even if holes are blown.

Regarding wall element pathing “corridors” etc they will work per se but one problem is that the more complicated wall element pathing – the bigger is the risk that there are flaws in the design of it.

Pathing does not has to be done with wall elements. Pathing can also be in the form of a NEC where RGs and towers forms a (long) path which takes time to travel and, if correctly built, will put the yard in DP before e.g silos and TH is reached.

I guess that many of you have understood that it is a bloody mess at the moment with people getting Base 0 left , right and center. Just to repeat some key points:


If you get Base 0: Remember to still log in and check your Kong Mailbox! Do this at least once a day since the team might want to communicate with you.


We are helping you, not trying to steal accounts so please trust the team with passwords for your accounts (Think about it – I am a lvl 51 empire builder who has been playing on Kong since 2009. What would happen if I started to mess with peoples accounts). But remember to change your passwords when we are done helping you! Any account can be hacked so for your own security – change password. And of course – check who is asking for your password….


The inflow is greater than the correction rate right now which is an ugly situation. One obvious solution would be to spread the Base 0 correction “tool box” to more people. But at the moment no such “tool box” exists. Des is still struggling to address all the variants of this fault so you actually need to be patient with us.


Do not complain if someone else “lower on the list” gets a correction before you. There is no cherry-picking of e.g people from a certain alliance, from a certain country, with curly hair or whatever. The team is just working as neutral as possible without any kind of bias.


Dummy is taking care of the administration – not Des. Des need to put all his energy on work.


Safest way to avoid Base 0 at the moment is to stay in Map Room 1 and keep a low profile (i.e not attacking people like crazy and not bragging about it). Boring but safe-ish.


My estimate – from checking number of new hard badges per day and number of Base 0 complaints – is that 25 -30% gets the Base 0 quite directly after moving to WM (map room 2)


If you still take the jump to WM. Start with A: checking your hood. If you see , lets say, a lvl 39 with all lvl 10 RGs close to you (which is a indication of a possibly hacked yard) or an empire builder with all maxed Black Diamond OPs – I would think about recycling my map room in that situation if it was me. B: Check what map (server) you are on by jumping to 0×0 and note the name of that hex. Both A and B are good information to us if you get Base 0.


Do NOT ask for hacks or ask for links to hacks in this thread. Do not talk about shiny hacks since shiny hacks hits on a companys revenue and is really sensitive stuff to discuss (yes, we might not like Kixeye but this a golden principle). I know that we might be perceived as “hackers” when we help you but what we are doing is more engineering than hacking. We are not doing it to destroy something for someone, not helping players to get advantages over other players and not teaching players how to hack.


If you are below a certain level, lets say “level 20”, and happen to get Base 0 it is in all honestly much quicker for you to start up a new account than to wait for help.

Something is really badly broken with the game now. I made a new yard for bubblelord yesterday and it blew up in his face more or less directly in WM. So now I took one of my lab-accounts and experienced same shit. Insta-move it to WM. Go make a cup of coffee. Back to computer after 30 minutes and refresh and….poof…base 0.
I have previously (about two weeks ago) used same account when trying to find out the algorithm that places a yard in WM so I jumped with it more than 30 times bewteen MR1 – WM during two-three days and messed around a bit without any issues.
And now I got the “flavour” that throws "Base “0” not found. [Interface/loadBase]" in your face.
The program load goes ok, the log in goes ok but the final step (which I believe is the load of the player data-set from Kixeye server) goes pear-shaped.

I´ll go with Des on this Bubble. Somethings goes awefully pear-shaped in the communication with the Kixeye server or internally in that server after a transaction. The (animated)picture is not to blame.

But what we have here is a yard that went poof without any external hacker killing it. Which is good information since it (at least in some of the cases) points towards the way data itself is handled.

Of course there is also the question whether the hacks as such are to blame in this kind of case but given the nature of the AOBs used I have hard to believe that to be the case. (e.g when a lvl 10 harvester is built its impossible to know its history. A lvl 10 is a lvl 10…).

I think it´s very hard to predict since “base 0” is not one disease with one cure. It seems to be different flavours of the fault.

Note that there is always the possibility to ask for help building a new base on a new account in this thread if you really, really, want to play and just can´t wait. In such a case a base would be created that was on the same level as your crashed base with same lvl monsters, snipers etc. Even though tools exists to quickly generate a new base (“hacks”) it still is quite a lot of work to tailor a base according to specs so this can´t really be done be default for everyone.
And no – I do not think that anyone that is serious about this plauge and has the knowledge wants to learn people left and right how to do this. Google exists for those that wants to find stuff but given the seriousness of this plauge I think its best to have some kind of control.

I also think that Kong wouldn´t be too happy if we started advertising about “hacking BYM for dummies” in threads. What is done is to give players a possibility to continue to play from the point where they were and not a mad creation of 100 lvl 56 maxed yards. Beacause that would also kill the game.

What on earth is the story with the MR upgrades. Just to try the mechanism out I created an account and did the upgrade about thirty times and didn´t get the fail at all. Must have some feedback from Des/Dummy (I have seen their comments earlier in the thread) but maybe the recommendation is that we should help those anxious regarding their upgrade by doing the speed upgrade for them. (Even though this goes against everything I use and believe in my professional life)

For some kind of grip on the number of World Maps take the number of Hard Badges: 21.000 right now. Assume that maybe 20% – 30% has left AND recycled. That leaves maybe about 15.000 yards.
Count the mean density. I get about one yard per 16 hexes or something like that. With 100×100 hexes on one map (10000 hexes) we can have about 700 yards on one map.
=> about 20 World Maps as of today.
