I have MX 2002 and also couldn’t get it to work even though logically it should have worked. The way around it was to make 2 background movie clips instead of one with 2 images.

…have not previously uploaded a game on Kongregate…

In the rules for eligibility, it says the above. I’m in the unfortunate situation where i have uploaded an unfinished game to test things out but never published it. I’ll probably never finish it so it’ll probably never get published. I was wondering if this disqualifies me from even competing in the contest? Honestly i really don’t think i’d have any chance of winning anyway but i still want to know.

This is really helpful. I’ve been trying to make my first game for a long time but keep running into problems. Maybe i keep trying to take on too difficult of a concept so it’s really nice to have some real guidance in taking those first steps with the Shooturials. A big thanks to Kongregate Labs for doing this!

And even though this will inevitably lead to a large influx of side-scrolling shooter games in the near future, i hope everyone will bear with it and keep in mind that we all have to start somewhere.

Ahoy, it be TLAP day! Shiver me timbers.

Anyway, like everyone else has already pointed out, the white bar is very awkward in fitting in with the overall look. It hasn’t really been addressed by staff as far as i’ve seen but i was wondering if it’s there because it’s actually part of the logo? If that’s the case i would suggest making the nav bar light gray instead of dark gray.

Just for the sake of comparison, here’s what it looks like with a black bar instead of white:

and here it is with the nav bar colors inverted:

I really think that light gray looks tons better, but that’s just me.

I do not criticize Greg’s decision to choose this game, it seems like a good choice.

However i am disappointed in the game itself. If you’re going to put “Epic” in the title, you better be damn sure it lives up to the name. I really didn’t find anything epic about it.

Everyone should because it causes server lag.

You should get points for rating, but you shouldn’t be rating for the points.

Maybe not, but it’s expected that a high-level user played a lot more games than low-level ones.

That may be true if the only way to earn points was playing games.

my opinion is that it’s more tedious than fun.

i think people who are complaining about the limit either:

A. spend way too much time on this site (go read a book, go for a walk, etc…)

B. or are just doing rating spam as Moonkey said.

i can’t imagine playing more than 30 games in one day.

when i tried to copy and paste it, i got the batman frame instead of the greg frame.

billyfred will not be using the avatar in that collage.

yeah i was trying to only use avatars that people were actually using but there was a shortage of white ones (i was also just plain short of avatars to use in it). i see a couple of new ones though so i can fix that.
