head isnt finished and i wanted the head to be the focal.. also its not hard for me to carry on this style through out the whole peice so patchy shouldn’t be a issue in this case i if this whole idea hadn’t sprung from a sketch of a head i wouldn’t have done it like this.

okay here is 3 new ones 1 is the 6 legged which is the best and what could be better
i prefer the bottom one im not sure why

humm yehh i couldnt get the anatomy right on the bottom but i think i will cross the 2. on all 4’s ? or 2 legged or 6 legged ? and thats not hair stuff it will be the growth like things, like around the bottom of the horn.

@ lax thanks this crit really helped i started with the herbivore teeth because of the obvious link to a rhino. i have rectified this issue, and have kept with the grotesque feel but toning it down a tad. ahah

thanks for the crit guys, i only outlined the teeth to give them a sharp feel as in the first picture they dont look menacing enough. i will blur in some of the out lining this is just me working into it. as for detail i will be adding a bit more in the skin but the areas done now will be there parts which are the intricate detailing or focals.

@petesahooligan i agree with what your saying but i am a perfectionist and not character designing under a time limit, which it looks like justin sweet is. this is more a on the side project which i can lavish time on so i think detail is key.
@GraphicDesignC thanks man and i will where i have time continue to work on this untill it becomes a full body render, yet to decide which of my body designs i will choose.

i work strait from digital but same method, i have sketched the full monster in just 3 colours first to check the look of it then i stated work on this area. and thanks very much i hope it will look good in total its taken around 2-3 an 1/2 hours

yeh but that dosnt help you learn to draw spheres and lighting digitally now does it.

a better way to do that sphere would have been to use the photoshop pressure tool and set this to colour dynamics> and change the contol to pen pressure select the darkest colour you want as the foreground colour and the highlight colour as the background then just press harder as colouring out. this leads to a smoother colour change.

any1 can just most people dont. it takes time though respect for sticking with paint even if it is abundant. GIMP would be a good program to get mate its free lol.

iv re installed the software i dont have a spare pen as lol i only had 1 pen 2 tablets ( it made sence at the time) so i will see if i can borrow my mates to check the actual tablet. thanks raw :)

okay iv got 2 tablets, but just went back to use my Bamboo original (A6) my little portable one and the pressure system seems to be f*d as even when my pen isnt on the tablet it draws at its lightest. any1 know how to fix this or is it broke ?

thanks man the problem is the bleach seems to bleed too much you need like to do somthing round it to stop that for the kind of designs i want ehhh dammit. i think lipographic priting although expensive is the only way forward..

not really worth time lapsing, but just as a question how do you record what your doing on your PC ? as i would like to time laps one of mine as people often think i just draw over images.
