Clan Introduction

Welcome to the military headquarters for the Art of War alliance. In Art of Combat you’ll be trained to be adept at tactical combat and eventually leadership if you have the Strength, Skill and Character to do so.

Our goal is to create an ever-vigilant force capable of defending and attacking threats to our alliance at all times, operating under a decentralized command structure.

In Art Of Combat, you are not led, you lead.

Requirements

Currently only players applying through this forum thread, our alliance website (http://aowfamily.webs.com/applications) or Kong Chat will be accepted.

  1. Must at least have TOC Level 4 and level 22+. Requirements may be lowered on a case-by-case basis depending on your potential.
  2. Must be open to advice and willing to share strategies with the clan
  3. Must be respectful to clan mates and mindful of the rules
  4. Must attack/defend clan mates whenever you’re within range

Ranking System
(All ranks have powers of ranks below them as well as requirements)

Recruit (Rank I) – Default Rank on entry to AOC. Probationary with no privileges other than protection from AOW alliance attacks.

  • Wash-out Criteria: Will be removed from clan if inactive for more than 1 day or not making it to Private before 7 days of probation are up.

Private (Rank II) – Rank granted after being assigned to Fireteam Leaders to form fire teams. Promotion done by Officers after recommendation by their own Fireteam Leader. Privates with potential will be trained as acting Fireteam Leaders to be promoted when a space opens up.

  • Rank Privileges: Able to invite other people to clan.
  • Rank Responsibilites: Relocate to assigned Squad Leaders and train as a fire team. Defend fire team members when online.
  • Demotion Criteria: Demoted after 2 days inactivity. Kicked after 3 days of inactivity.

Fireteam Leader (Rank III) – Rank granted after contributing to clan and being nominated by at least one Rank III and above. Contribution in the form of advice or sharing ideas, responding to kill codes rapidly or helping defend other clan members. Will lead and train their assigned privates to work as a team.

  • Rank Privileges: Able to kick lower ranked players.
  • Rank Responsibilites: Lead own fire team on coordinated assaults on nearby targets. Train fire team on basic PvP and PvM combat. Identify and nominate potential Squad Leaders. Able to name own fire team battalions.
  • Demotion Criteria: Demoted after 2 days inactivity. Kicked after 4 days of inactivity.
  • Time Requirement: To achieve this rank the member must have been in the clan for at least a week.
  • Capacity Limit: There can only be 15 Squad Leaders at any time.

Administrative Officer (Rank IV) – Rank is granted for specialized purposes that include administration of fireteams, intelligence gathering, game research, clan liaisons and deciding clan policies.

  • Rank Privileges: Able to promote/demote lower ranked players.
  • Unique Privileges: Granted access to top level AOW forums.
  • Rank Responsibilites: Identify and nominate potential Officers. Represent AOC when dealing with other clans. Ensure recruits sign up for website and understand what to do. Update clan members’ timezones and fireteams. Update game information and tactics.
  • Demotion Criteria: Demoted after 3 days of inactivity. Kicked after 5 days of inactivity.
  • Time Requirement: To achieve this rank the member must have at least been in the clan for at least 2 weeks.
  • Capacity Limit: There can only be 5 officers in AOC at any time. Officers demonstrating excellence will be promoted to lead a clan.

Just used an Infantry Range Boost +25% and it turned out to be a Speed Boost +25% instead. This is quite annoying since it cost me a few infantry battalions trying to outrange a FASCAM before realizing something was wrong.

That’s what MG turrets are for. You don’t need SAMs when MG turrets outrange all air units by far and kills them in less than a second. Hardly the best unit due to long repair times and low hp. An equivalent space worth of riflemen (3 of them) could kill a cobra before it kills more than 1 rifleman. That’s how balancing in the game works.

It’s like saying M1 Abrams is the best endgame unit cos it hits 11k per shot and has a crapton of HP…until you realise it costs you 3 hrs and a quarter mil to repair each time and an equivalent space worth of javelins (5 of them) kills it in 5 seconds.

Every unit is balanced with a strong counter and/or high cost. Stinger may be a good anti air but look at the cost, build time and space per stinger to realise why it’s not available to beginners by default who would just suicide them. However, you will be glad to find out that the mission chain (John Hamilton) to unlock stinger is considered one of the easiest and can easily be completed at TOC3 if you so wish.

The vehicle borne AA you’re looking for is elite gaz tigr and it is insanely powerful for its costs for the simple reason that it’s extremely difficult to unlock. What’s the point of advancing in game if you get all the best units at TOC3?

Hi Crossxfire, we only kick recruits after 2 days because most of them actually quit the game after awhile. If you’re active and just tend to do other stuff, get your rank up to officer by helping in clan and its unlikely you’ll be removed for inactivity.

As Jcheung mentioned in the comments, missiles can’t be seen or used properly once you have 5 or more missile types in your warehouse. This is quite an annoyance at higher levels since the game has like 16 different types of missiles at least and the missions tend to give 1 or 2 of each type. This makes upgrades to warehouse rather useless as you won’t be able to effectively use more than the first 4 missile types in your warehouse.

TL;DR: Please shift the missile side bar slightly higher so more missile types in warehouse can be displayed during combat.

Can we have clearer descriptions for the special effect of elite units in game?

Like for the elite Kamov Ka, what is the percentage of range reduced and does it only affect enemy units within its stated attack range (meaning it has to close in on them first) or does it act like an overlord and protects all allied units within its attack range from ranged attack (meaning it serves more like a support unit and would make more sense given its short attack range)?

Edit: Nvm, I found out it’s only on hit. As well as other special unit info.

Walls block direct fire from AI. Upgrading em is a little useless atm since it’s upgraded per tiny section of wall. Stacking them in lines to protect your turrets keeps them alive much longer.

Assault is still the best all rounder class at higher levels. Medic can survive forever by running away but can’t deal much damage. Heavy damage is insane and stuns mobs but can’t run away.

The set item is considered a rare, bout the same chance as getting legendary from a champion mission lockbox. You are pretty lucky to get it in just 3 runs, quite a few players have done 10+ runs without a single set item.

Dont think accuracy affects minimum at full auto actually. Accuracy pretty much goes to zero at full auto unless you have fire stabilization.
