Topic: Collaborations / Near Completed Space Game seeks Audio help

My 2-man team has mostly completed work on the game(90-95% complete approximately), just fine-tuning at this point. It’s a space-themed arena shooter where you play a spaceship pilot with various weapons. What we are lacking are Sound effects and title screen/battle music tracks of any kind.

We are hoping to launch before the end of the year, so if someone is interested in doing some small audio work consisting of a 30sec-1min title-screen loopable track, and maybe 2 1-3minute loopable “battle” tracks focused on sci-fi and electronic ambience, we could definitely use you for the final stretch of our project. If you are a good sound effects guy as well, we have 10-20 sound effects that we need to fill, but we’ll probably end up going with royalty free effects for the time being.

As for compensation, we can definitely put your name in lights and potentially work out some kind of revenue sharing for quality work. Post here or send me a PM if interested.

note The ability to make this game as grand as i envision will only be hindered by the engine with which it is made. If Flash isn’t able to pull something like this off, i am definitely interested in any java or c++ devs that could manage this project.

The Fringe

Concept: 2.5D Space Grid Warfare
2.5D in the sense that the camera is locked, using 3d models; I would like to have the ships ability to bank or barrel roll.
I have a few ideas for this game, as outlined in my GDD (whisper or email for a gdoc invite):

Description
Ultimately, this is meant to be a Space Fleet Warfare game with RPG elements.

Initially, the player will begin by mining local asteroids for resources; eventually enabling him to build a Space Fleet with intent to avenge the death of his home planet. The player lives and mines in the Fringe, a desolate span of stable asteroid belts. His home and workplace, a Starship Assembly Apparatus (owned by his soon dead father), is all he has ever known. He lives alone, relying on the rare merchants that come his way periodically.

Once the destruction of his home planet has taken place (due to some notorious pirates or something), the player then makes a choice. Burdened by his current circumstance, essentially that of a hermit with miserable people skills, he chooses to either continue mining solo, or to try and enlist the help of other wayfarers to aide him in his journey. Either path takes him to the same eventual result: the conversion of his newly inherited Assembly into a war machine, with which he will eventually avenge his father’s death, a Fleet of recruited Captains gleaming at his back.

Through means of learned diplomacy and natural bartering skills, the player promises the recruited captains their own ships after the [insert enemy here] is/are destroyed.

I can handle all graphic related work. I am proficient in Photoshop/Illustrator/AfterEffects/3dsMax; I just need a programmer/designer/ whatever you call the ones that make everything functional. Looking for an even split, depending on how many people get involved.

May also potentially need a Sound guy, not sure yet. Will jump that hurdle when it arrives.

Topic: Collaborations / Falling Debris: A Successful Collab

I use 3dsMax myself; upgraded from Blender, which is an incredibly powerful tool when in the right hands. It can do everything that Max does in depth, although it may take a bit longer in some scenarios. Definitely one of the top free alternatives to 3dsmax :)

Topic: Collaborations / 2D/3D artist specializing in Space oriented design

Like the title says, looking to work on a project, preferably involving space aspects. I’m proficient in 3dsMAX and photoshop CS4; i am willing to work outside of the space genre however. Never done a flashgame, so looking to learn a bit about the behind the scenes of them as well. Whisper me for a display of my space related works.
