I mod in other areas (mostly some chat rooms on Kong), but I was just recently modded to the tech forum. I think it is because Cman wants to take a vacation on some beach somewhere and needed a sucker someone to cover this forum while he was gone.

I don’t know what other account you are talking about, but as you say, Kongregate has identified you as spamming. You are probably making it worse by trying to post again and again the messages that Kongreagate is hiding. This only confirms to the system that you are indeed spamming.

Try to earn a few badges, rate a few games, post a few comments. Make a few friends and get a few fans. Above all, don’t post things that are going to get modded. If that doesn’t work, then I would suggest that you email support@kongregate.com instead.

Issues with buying premium currency or in game items with kreds in a specific game need to be addressed by the developer of the game. However, you might try a few things yourself quickly (and I would go in order, from top to bottom):

  • Switch to incognito/private mode in your browser. Bring up the game and try to buy whatever you are trying to buy then. This will disable all your plugins/extensions/add-ons. If the problem is caused by one of them, then you will be able to do what you want. Then just turn off all your plugins and back on one at a time until you find the one that causes the problem.
  • Try using a different browser.
  • Try running a malware scan (Malwarebytes and Spybot are both good options, and free).

If those don’t fix your problem, then I would report it to the developer.

Some things to consider/do

  • Sometimes it takes a bit for the email to arrive. It is not unreasonable for it to take longer than 20 minutes, however 2 hours would be a bit long.
  • If you checked your spam/deleted/junk folder and still can’t find the email, I would send an email to support@kongregate.com, and be sure to send it from the email address linked to the account in question. They can help.
  • You might be absolutely sure of the email address you used, but you might want to choose to reset using either your user name or your email address (whichever one you didn’t use earlier). If you have a different email that sonick912 is linked to it will go to that email if you reset it using your account name. If you try to reset it using your email, it will reset whatever account is linked to that email (selecting the oldest if there is more than one).

You actually don’t own your War Bonds, they are not your “digital property”. You lease them, and they have no monetary value.

I expect that, along with the cards and upgrades you have purchased over the years, your WB will simply go away when the game does.

Accounts can not be deleted. They can only be banned (which effects the same thing, more or less). The reason that accounts can’t be deleted is that it ends up breaking things like forum posts, comments, game ratings, etc. The account in question probably has done these things and each one links back to the account. Without that account to link back to, things start to go wrong. Also, by deleting the account then the account name gets available again, which also causes different problems if reused. This is why Kongregate permanently bans accounts upon request instead of deleting them.

If you would like to have an account of yours permanently banned, please contact support@kongregate.com from the email address linked to the account. They can help you.

Topic: Technical Support / MALWARE ON KONGREGATE

Do you get the threat warning every time you go to Contract Wars game? Or did you just get it once? I am asking because it might have come from an ad on that page (but if you get it every time, it might be something piggybacking on the game itself).

Please send an email to support@kongregate if it is something that you continue to see. If you continue to see it on the CW game page (and no other), also contact the devs for CW.

I do have a question for you though. When you say you “reinstalled my whole PC”. is that actually true? Did you re-image your PC or reformat and install from scratch? Or were you saying that to mean that you re-installed all the relevant applications (Flash, Unity, your web browser, etc)?

If you did re-install your whole PC, and that wasn’t an exaggeration, and you still see the issues on Kong about lag, then I would look at your DNS (as maybe you are having a network connection issue). You can do this by the following:

  1. updating the DNS settings: https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/
  2. flush the dns: http://docs.cpanel.net/twiki/bin/view/AllDocumentation/ClearingBrowserCache
  3. restart your browser

Well, if you check out GameStop’s FAQ, it tells how you can exchange your EDGE membership card for a PowerUp Rewards Pro card (you just need to bring it into any participating GameStop Store). Then you can link your PUR card to Kong.

Clearing your cache won’t cause you to lose progress. Clearing your cookies WILL cause you to lose game progress. Don’t clear your cookies.

However, instead of bumping a 3 year old thread, maybe you can be clear on what the issue is you are seeing. Maybe then we can help you find a solution.

If ads are actually stopping you from playing the game, I suspect that you might have some Adware on your computer. I would suggest downlaoding and running an adware/spyware scan/removal tool (Spybot and Malwarebytes are both good options). Please note adware is very much different than a virus. A program that only scans for one will not pickup the other.

adv0catus is correct. You can use an email address from another account (even a banned one) to create a new account.

It is highly unlikely that you will get your name changed. However since you just created your account on May 3rd, you can’t have done that much on it. I would suggest that you simply create a new account with the name you want and start using that.

If you feel it is important to have your account banned (it is not necessary), then as adv0catus says, contact support@kongregate.com.
