However I will try to help. Did you reincarnate with your SS defending an attack? If so, you need to wait the 7 days for them to stop defending on their own. It is an open bug.

If not, it sounds like you might be trying to recall them by going first into the PtP menu and then selecting on that SS. Don’t do that. Instead, go to your Keep, select your SS from there, then recall from there. My bet is that you will find that will work for you.

Like I said, it used to be. I don’t think so anymore though (again, unless you want something very high end or very specialized). For example, last month I bought a new computer for $300 from HP (some deal they had). Granted it isn’t super high end, but it is new with way more computing power than anything on this site needs to play and I have been happy with it.

I used to build all my own computers. Now it just isn’t worth my time and it doesn’t seem to save me any money anymore so I don’t do it.

Topic: Technical Support / Game of thrones ascent won't load

All, I know that GoTA has had a number of performance issues since the 18th when the game was launched on iOS and Google Play. They had a much much much larger number of users start playing due to the visibility Google Play and iOS gave the game. As such they have had performance issues over the weekend and yesterday. Today seemed much better, but still slower vs last week. In addition a number of old bugs have come back that were performance triggered or that the fixes were performance heavy. The devs are working hard to get them fixed (as Shan stated above).

Topic: Technical Support / Lionheart tactics

I am not sure if bjstucker is having the same issue I am, but since this game just was released on Droid/Google Play last week I just downloaded it today and tried to play. After connecting and the game starting and playing for 30 seconds or so, the game disconnects and seems to reboot (as if you closed the app and restarted it). The error it gives is “Connection lost (#804)”, which is an in game error (not one from the phone itself) and offers a “retry” button that restarts the app.

I assume this is likely a capacity/performance issue related to the sudden influx of users now that it is on Google Play.

@bjstucker – if all you want is the $5 coupon, just click on the K when you open the game. There you will be able to claim your $5 coupon without actually having to play the game.

@karmakazi420, if you don’t like the analogy of Kong being the YouTube for games, think of them this way. Kong is like a landlord that owns the building and land a company uses to do business. Let’s call this company “Widgets and Wonders”. Does the landlord make money because Widgets and Wonders does business on their property? Sure (in that example it is rent money, a fixed amount and not a portion of the shops proceeds, but it largely comes to the same thing). Does that mean the landlord has any responsibility to ensure that Widgets and Wonders continues to sell quality product and have good customer service? No, of course not.

That being said, Kong is a good company and they do what they can to help out the user base. Such as before and now when Jason (Jclor) offers to try to contact the developers to have them fix their issue. But don’t confuse this with Kong fixing the issue. All they can do is to contact the devs and ask them to take action. If the devs don’t take action, you can’t put the blame for that on Kongregate.

Now, I admire your dedication to your friends and the fun times you had when you played (and still play, when you can) HoG. But by your admission, the devs don’t seem to care about the game anymore. If I were to take a pragmatic view, (and I admit to not having much first hand knowledge here) I would offer the opinion that it doesn’t seem like the devs are investing much into this game anymore. And further assume that they feel that they made what they could off of this 5 year old game, and have decided to put the smallest amount of effort possible and try to draw as much money (in ad revenue and sales) as possible without putting any more effort or money into the game. Now if you are happy to play this game given this environment of “little to no dev support”, then great. I hope you continue to have fun playing. But don’t be surprised then when things are slow to get fixed or don’t get fixed at all. If you are too frustrated to play in this sort of environment or want to send a message to the devs (“we will not play your game at all until X, Y, and Z is fixed”) then I would suggest boycotting the game, even if only until the devs start to pay attention again. There are plenty of other games on the site that you can spend your time on while you wait for this to happen.

This was only a suggestion though. Please feel free to ignore totally the advice I am giving.

It used to be cheaper to build your own computer. However these days, unless you are going for something super high end or something very specialized, I would just buy an off the shelf item from HP or Dell or whatever.

Again, Kong doesn’t support the game. The admins at Kongregate have zero ability to correct the server problems with this game. All Kong does is to provide a way for developers to host their game (think of Kongregate as the YouTube of games). The developers own the support of their games and updating their games.

Also, someone from Kong HAS responded here (Jclor, Jason, one of the Kong admins).

Kong does have a support email (support@kongregate.com) but they are not going to be able to help in this. As mentioned above, all they can do (and have done) is to contact the developer the same way that you can (via the “red button” or email).

I will say it again, if the developers have abandoned the game and the game has bugs in it that make it unplayable, I think it is time to move on to another game on Kongregate. There are literally thousands of games on this site. If the reason that you keep playing Heroes of Gaia is because of the user base… maybe you all can organize to move to a similar game that has better developer support.

Topic: Technical Support / Linking ipad game to pc

I assume you are talking about Game of Thrones Ascent.

In order to link your iPad game with the account on your PC you first need to start the game on your PC. I would suggest starting it on Kongregate and not Facebook. Once you have your character started on Kongregate (or wherever) you then open up the GoTA app on your iPad and select the “Kongregate” button and long in. This then links your app to your Kongregate account and instructs the GoTA app to pull your Kongregate user.

Sorry, I am confused. Did you buy gold or do you want to buy gold?

If you want to buy gold, at the top of the screen, in the upper right hand corner you will see your Power rating. Just to the left of that you will see a number by a small gold coin (the number might be zero). Click on that number (or the gold coin or the + sign by the number) and you should be brought to a screen where you can buy gold with kreds.

Alternatively, this week, you should also see a popup when you start the game. This popup offers a free “Titan Helm” if you buy $20 or more of gold (use 200 kreds to buy 105 gold). The helm isn’t that great of an item, but since you are buying gold anyway you might as well take the free bonus. Just click on the “Buy Now” button to be taken to the gold purchase screen.

If you have gold, that is the money (you don’t need to convert it anymore). You can just buy something (or save it) that costs gold. You can buy an item from the shop, unlock a seal on an SS, Lord/Lady, or item, buy building upgrade or talent, etc.

Topic: Technical Support / How long does it take for Kongregate to be notified of deals made in the Free Kreds Zone?

Actually, you should check your list of viewed offers and find the one that you have concerns about. From there you can click on the “contact support” link to inquire about the specific status of the offer (assuming it has been longer than the time listed for kreds to post after offer completion).

If you don’t see the offer you completed, I would make sure that you are not deleting cookies (and also that you allow cookies from their site) as this is who TrialPay tracks your status. Assuming you aren’t removing the cookies you can either submit a ticket as cargo suggests or contact support@trailpay.com

I am guessing that you are playing Game of Thrones Ascent (either on the Kong website or the phone/tablet version). The developers are busy working performance issues due to the larger than expected launch of the iOS/Droid version of the game released last week. This is causing issues such as the one you mentioned.

I would recommend closing the window that is running the game (either the browser window or the app), opening it again and unequipping whatever is on your SS that you are trying to swap equipment on. Then try to equip whatever you are trying to put on them. If it doesn’t work, refresh again and try to reequip. That should resolve your issue.

If you want, you can submit a ticket to DB, the developers and they can fix it for you.

I know that the devs are working to add server capacity to the game now and have been working the past 3 days on issues from the launch. The devs have offered a small apology in the form of some speed up food (Bacon, Bread, Honeycakes, and Cheese) that can be found here:

I assume you are talking about some in game premium currency (such as gold in Game of Thrones Ascent). To use kreds to buy a game’s premium currency, log into the game you want the currency in, and use the in game functionality to buy it. Sometimes this is called “buy gold”. Sometimes it is called “recharge”. It normally is on the main page and easy to find (they want you to spend kreds on them).

Topic: Kongregate / Okay... that's it... get rid of that annoying RATE THIS GAME popup that overtakes the chat room!

Whenever I see it, I just rate the game 1. If it later moves moves me to change the rating, and I remember, then I do. I know that this isn’t the dev’s fault (I understand it is some sort of Kong split test), but this is the only way I see of making the problem go away for me and to show my dissatisfaction with the forced rating popup.

I would rather see a small chat line about once every 30 minutes (similar to what happens when I get a kred award from a survey or something) that I haven’t rated a game instead of the obtrusive popup. If I am not in chat then go ahead with the popup if you feel you need to solicit a rating from me.

Oh – and turn it off for beta games (you can’t rate them and so it gets doubly annoying).

Topic: Technical Support / payment error

Well, I know that folks are able to buy in game currency in some games as recently as today. Without having screen shots or more specific information, I would suggest that you try two things:

  1. Disable any extensions/add-ons that you might have. I understand that some of these interfere with the Kreds purchase process.
  2. Scan for Malware/Adware (you can use a free scanning program such as Malwarebytes or Spybot… or both). Clean anything that is found.

If neither of these is your problem you can reenable your add-ons. Then I might try from another computer (ideally one in another location).
