More level variety than just a simple field. Curved paths to the enemy general. Ground effects or hazards like snow or desert so different units have advantages and disadvantages.

Anybody who only used the escape wings once or twice and beat the game got extremely lucky. I’ve used them about 30 times and came nowhere close to beating the game. There are only two ways to win: get that 1 in 10,000 run that will take you just about from start to finish or grind, grind, grind.

making this part of the game unavailable once the game is out is absurd. It’s like me coming out with a novel and saying “pre-order now or I’m going to rip out the last 2 pages!”

Thaaaaat… is not at all what it’s like. If you rip out the last two pages, you’d miss the climax/resolution of the book. In other words, you’d be missing something important.

However, these “bonuses” are useless skins, extra weapons (which are usually worse than the in-game ones – Mass Effect 2!), or extra missions that seemed half-assed in the first place (Heavy Rain’s was terrible.). All in all, it’s nothing like ripping out a section of a book, since if you didn’t preorder the game, you’re still getting the complete experience. An extra skin barely counts as adding to the experience.

It’s not like ripping out the last pages of the book, just pages that contain pictures or plot elements that expand the story a little. Or a lot depending on the content.

Also, I know you are not retarded so please do not insult me by acting like one. Even if it’s just extra skins you are most definitely NOT getting the complete experience. I find it offensive when people tell me to my face something that both of us know to be false, or at least something that the person telling me is clearly smart enough to know that is false.

Oh if the devs are so nice, than why don’t they put it up on the marketplace so “you can pay a little more to support their company”? The answer is because that’s not the way it is. It’s a cheap marketing trick. Nothing more.

If it were a cheap marketing trick, they’d be putting it up on the market for anyone to buy. I guarantee you they’d make more money selling them for extra.

There are many bonus items, levels, etc. that are sold separately. They do do what you say.

feha that’s a special case. 99.999% of the time pre-order bonuses are nothing more than an advertising gimmick. A gimmick that punishes people, if even a little bit, for not pre-purchasing the game. Quite honestly I think that it’s ethically questionable. People should not be punished for making responsible choices when buying stuff or simply not having the knowledge or ability to pre-order.

They probably give the same amount. Magic use is better because there are levels that have monsters with absorb. There are items that will let you temporarily change the element of your energy mage but doing so will make you lose the energy skill bonus (as far as I know).

What stat should I upgrade?
I’ve been putting everything into loot so far…

I put all my points into magic use. Looting is pretty useless. Even the best items that I’ve seen grant only +6 to a stat. Most just give +3 or 4.

“You can brew fizzes basically from the start of the game, as long as you have the ingredients (six makopas, six bottles). Are you eating all your makopas or something?”

I must be since I have never seen any npc with the option to brew. Gerard says that he will but he has never had the option to do it.

“Would you care to estimate how much that is?”

I don’t mind putting money into a game as long as I don’t get the feeling that the developers are less than honest (for lack of a better word) about trying to get my money.

“If you’ve never actually been to Nidaria, it’s no wonder you can’t figure out how to brew stuff.”

BS! Nidaria’s multiplayer functions are little more than a matchmaking service or chat room. There are no enemies to kill.

“Source please.”

My source is reading what people have posted on the internet. 99 out of 100 opinions on this that I have read have been against the combination of premium membership and micropayments.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Remnants of Skystone] Weapons WAY overpriced

Hemer’ post is garbage:

“If I see one more person with the intelligence of a glass of water ranting I am going to strangle them through their computer monitor for the general benefit on mankind.”

“By the time you finish the missions, you will have MUCH more than 7500 spores assuming you didn’t buy food because you suck at the game and ate your sweet makopa’s instead of brewing them.”

When do you get to brew stuff? 20+ hours of game play, just starting on Ridgeback Highlands and I still can not brew anything. That’s 2/3 of the entire game. I have used every single healing drop that I have found. The only free healing is checkpoints and that only gets half of my health back. The Great Ferron boss took every healing item I had and I still couldn’t beat it. Maybe I am just a retard huh? Guess I suck at the game and I should go strangle myself for the good of mankind.

“People also whine their asses off about stuff costing brass. Well well, shame on you for not thinking before you rage. Realize, if a developer wants to make a major game, funding has to come from somewhere.”

Somewhere like the $10 one month membership? And even the monthly memberships or permanent membership do not give full access to everything in the game. Also there is revenue from advertisements on Kongregate.

“You should be HAPPY someone made an MMO without locking almost all the content, or all of it if you don’t pay.”

This game is not a MMO. 99% of it is single player only and co-op is two players only. It barely qualifies as multiplayer, let alone massively multiplayer.

“Games like Runescape have almost all the gameplay cost money, and games like WoW cost insane prices.”

Runescape does not charge for a premium membership and also charge for micropayments to gain items.

Most of the time, outside of the fanboy community, people view the combination of premium membership and micropayments as greed. That’s an opinion that I share, and as a result I will not spend a single cent on this game. Especially considering that 99% of the game is single player ONLY. They put in a lot of effort and made a good, if flawed, game. But I am not interested in renting a single player game. If I wanted to spend $10 there are other good games that I can buy and own permanently with no micropayments to purchase additional stuff.

Well, answer this, how fast can you beat the first level using every special mode with troops. By the way, can you get pull about 30,000 XP per first level completion?

It just seems that is would be impossible to play on every special mode without using spells to win. But that could just be me.

EDIT: Also, it seems almost impossible to beat levels on “shadow mode” or what every it may be called just using your troops.

I can beat the first level with every special mode activated except blasters and mummies in about one minute, maybe two if my laptop is creating lag. The computer always captures two buildings but right after the second one I capture it from the computer and win. Each victory gets 9,000 exp on average. Sometimes I get as low as 4,000 or as high as 11,000.

I immediately capture the computer’s start. Then I capture it’s expansions in the order the computer captured them.

Maxing your stats works a lot better than maxing any spell. The octopus and the game itself is easy to beat without using spells if your stats are maxed.
