I have testers who test the game to make sure all battles are balanced and possible.

Topic: Collaborations / RPG game Grinding and Playtime

Hi everyone,

I’m developing a Tactical RPG game. The first part is finished and is looking for sponsor. Anyway, one of potential sponsor worry that my game has no in-game money and no grinding, which may reduce the playtime and “player dont have to work hard to accomplice”. So, I’m asking some outside option on the issue.

I personally dislike grinding (repeative task and reduce the challenge), therefore, all battles in my game is preset. It is an tactical RPG so each battle is longer than a typical RPG game.

There are about 40 battles in total and it take about 6 hours to finish the game (if you know exactly what to do and don’t lose any battles). Items, level, new characters and skills are awarded when you win battles instead of money to purchase them.

The entire game is divided into 2 parts so the total play time is about 12 hours.

If it is the first time you play, it take longer than 12 hours to finish. Each character also can be customized to increase re playability.

I would like your option on the length of the game. Do you think it is too short to be successful? How long is a typical RPG playtime ( Sonny or Mardek)?

If I must increase the play time, I would rather make an optional very challenging dungeon with increasing harder battles than making in-game money and grinding requirements. What do you think?

Thank you for your time!

Topic: Collaborations / Grand Tactical RPG Need Composer

Everyone,

After listening to all your sample carefully and discussing with the other person in the team, i have decided on the composer slot. Just want to let you guy know that if I did not pick your work, it is not because they are not good but simply because they may not be the best fit for this project. I really appreciate your interest and will keep your sample in mind in case I have other need to for music. Thank you all.

Topic: Collaborations / Creating a game development team.

I plan to develop a multilayer TBS game after my current game is done. There should be a feature that allow user to play against ea other online. Since I’m not familiar with multiplayers, I may need to hire a coder for that part. Do you have any sample of your works ?

About myself, I’m a pretty good artist and programmer. Sample of my work can be seen at 1manstudio.net.

Regard

Topic: Collaborations / Grand Tactical RPG Need Composer

Greeting,

First of all I want to make it clear that this is a very serious project, therefore, i do expect serious replies.

Long story make short, I’m developing a very complex and high-end flash game. It is a personal project and the team is rather small including me (Artist,Game Designer,Programmer) a Scriptwriter/Editor, and several beta testers. My previous Music Composer is no longer be able to work on this project, therefore, I’m looking for someone to fill in the gap.

Please visit the following link to learn more about the game and try out the demo:
http://www.genesis.1manstudio.net

The demo that was on that site is a very early version of the game engine. The game itself is halfway done and i plan to publish playable version in late May.

I’m looking for a talented composer to make original soundtracks for the game. I do expect the style to be compatible with the feeling of this game, which is light hearted, dreamy and fantastic. Professionalism is highly desired.

About the benefit, I’m not sure how successful the game will be upon release, however, your credit will of course be given. Depending on the financial profit that the game may generate, your work will be paid.

If you are interested, please reply to this thread.

P/s: On the side note, I do have a couple more space for beta testers, if anyone interested. Beta testers, however, is mostlikely wont be paid. Your credits will still be given.

Thank you for your time and have a wonderful day.
