With Monk being finished, Trudy’s killer being caught, and Monk moving. I propose a question to the world. What will we do now? (Yes this is mostly a commemoration to the show, lock or delete if you wish, I felt it deserved one, even if it was short.

If its unsafe, I can see how it shouldn’t be up. But to charge him for such a simple thing, specially as the man fought in 3 different wars, they can’t show the man enough respect to let him fly his flag? Its amazing what pansys America has these days, though its because of men like this old vet that let idiots like his neighbors exist. And yes, this old veteran is going into criminal court over this, while somehow our little terrorists are heading off to civil court and will plead they weren’t read their rights and go walk free.

Indeed, Purple. because ecuador, whoever rises in such settings, tend to not go down easy, aka dictatorships if I must say it in a more blunt form.

Its an idiots idea. As Sithdoughnut said, it would require someone with absolute power to define who was good enough to keep control. And as you said about Phds, how can we believe what you say? Democracy is not a fail, perhaps yes in the mob sense it can be bad, which is why America works. Representatives who are elected by popular vote make decisions, and sure, they can be corrupted, so make checks and balances, which we did. America may not be some god and is perfect, but it works.

Anyway, what about a noocracy? Except not with absolute power…

Who would decide who was wise enough to rule? Also, if this new form of government was not to have absolute power, what powers would it have, and who would have the rest?

Good point…..it was just a suggestion.

Ah! So first you keep repeatedly placing it, bragging about your intelligence, and when he shows its flaw “Its just a suggestion”?

No, they don’t. They have high taxes, they have poor choices on most anything, food, etc, since alot of companies ALSO highten prices, so some go out of they are there at all. We ALL lose, and wether or not you listen, you will learn when it comes. Do you even remember, it will be 5 years till healthcare kicks in? But we pay for it anyways.

And schools are crap :D. I hear plenty of people in highschool who talk about how bad it is, how they talk of homeschool seeming so much better (Thank you mother for homeschool) and blah, which is why for public school, we need a voucher program.

Canada government-spending is $2,120 in US dollars per person on health care, while the United State’s government-spending $2,724. However, U.S. government-spending covers less than half of all health care costs. Private spending for health care is also far greater in the U.S. than in Canada. In Canada, an average of $917 was spent annually by individuals or private insurance companies for health care, including dental, eye care, and drugs. In the U.S., this sum is $3,372. In 2006, health care consumed 15.3% of U.S. annual GDP. In Canada, only 10% of GDP was spent on health care.

From taxes, because everyone is going to jump on the gov’t care bandwagon, and when so many jump on, it gets burdened

The more people that jump on the less it cost per capita.

Those who still somehow survive will afford the better, privatised care.

Government healthcare should be good enough in most situations, you should not need private healthcare. And the price of private care will go down.

Its the poorer and middle class who get shafted and stuck with the crap care

It is not crap care by any means. Tell me what the plan does not cover that the average person needs. At least the government could never drop your coverage because they think you will be too expensive

socialism so everyone loses…. better

not socailism and everyone is winning.

a total of 40% of Americans ages 18-64 have, at best, inadequate access to health care

rich still win don’t they?

Until we get socialism the rich will always win.

EDIT:

Apparently doesn’t work for the rest of the countries either:

Sicko: List of Commie Pinko Countries with Universal Health Care (Socialized Medicine)
Tuesday, June 19, 2007
Don’t forget about Hints from Hell!
Here are a list of industrialized countries with some form of universal health care. These countries are populated with borderline Commies who have outrageous taxes and horrendous doctors. These countries are full of waiting rooms, which are filled with sick, sick pinko people.

That seems like a completely unbiased source. It does not even say what is actually wrong with the national healthcare systems.

It doesn't matter THAT WE STILL GET COVERED, I quote
Now, with a forced Gov’t care, there is no competition, eirgo, what makes them want to give great healthcare?

No, businesses try to make the most profit at the lowest cost to themselves. If this means providing poor coverage, refusing as many claims as possible, canceling claims whenever possible, and limiting care when possible, then they are going to do it. A system that isn’t for profit wouldn’t have this kind of problem.

Now, with a forced Gov’t care, there is no competition, eirgo, what makes them want to give great healthcare?

The same reason the post will always send the mail; it’s made to do that, and it has no reason not to.

where does the freeness come from?

Taxes. However you are ignoring the savings that would come from replacing our current broken system. Every country with universal health care that I am aware of spends less money per person than we do, and with better outcomes.

And sure, you can still get priv care, but wait, whos going to afford it? The rich!

Just like the way it currently is!

So Gov’t v Priv? Its the poorer and middle class who get shafted and stuck with the crap care, while Rich get the better priced, better serviced care.

You are falsely assumings that government care would be bad, which just isn’t the case. As I just mentioned, other countries with universal health care have better outcomes. Yes, even better than those who can afford the pricier plans in the U.S.

Freemarket is great, not perfect, but great, sure in Capitalism can be unfair, somebody has to lose, its sad, yes, but is going down socialism so everyone loses…. better?

No one loses in socialism. Anyway, this isn’t about socialism. This is about universal health care. If you think one social program is going to drag us down, then you better campaign against the postal service, fire department, police, and every other public service we get. However you might notice those services aren’t the ones causing our financial woes; in fact it is those wonderful free enterprises you so desperately love that are causing all our problems. How interesting that you blame socialism for everything capitalism does wrong.

Hey, guess what happens when a buisness gives bad coverage, demand for good service comes up, and anyone who can do better will have everyone flock to HIM. So a buisness LOSES because it trys to pull that. And your right, nobody loses, just no one can win.

I mean, its quite simple how priv competitive is better then Gov’t, buisness’ try to bring the best service at the best price, so that you don’t go across the street. Therefore, each is doing their best, eirgo, good service, and good prices. Now, with a forced Gov’t care, there is no competition, eirgo, what makes them want to give great healthcare? And where does the freeness come from? From taxes, because everyone is going to jump on the gov’t care bandwagon, and when so many jump on, it gets burdened, where will the money come from? Sure, its fai- oh wait, rich still win don’t they? Thats why people like Vladmire Putin say the world can’t afford America going with all that crap.

I heard you can go to jail if you see a crime being committed, and if you are fully able to help and have no real reason you can’t, and don’t, is a crime, nonetheless, it isn’t, and if it is, then the law and your cops aren’t as good as so many of you say.

Ahh yes because a hooded mugger yelling at a guy “GIMME YO MONEY” is so hard to tell from the other guy scared out of his wits with the gun to him.

I believe he distracted the mugger with a clever statement of “Who needs a knife around this side of town??” Then jumping to the side and running off.

Well, if people carried guns, and saw a mugger, they’d most likely shoot, saving your ass. And if not then, you could still get out your gun and shoot him. Teller, a magician, got out from a muggers knife without touching the guy.
