Need a total of two oranges, but have nothing to exchange with; gave all my portals away to some folks who didn’t feel the need to give back.

Mozilla Firefox 3.5.5. Latest updates, no plugins that should affect something like this.

Topic: Technical Support / Collab MP3 uploads

I tried uploading a song to the Collabs section, but when I use Firefox, it claims the file I’m uploading is not an MP3. Use Internet Explorer 8, however, and it works fine. Big issue, please solve!

Topic: Collaborations / Music man available!

I’m available to help make music for your game. Right now, I work well with chip, electronica, and demoscene/mod-style music. See my profile to hear some samples of my work. I don’t need money; I only need a name in the credits.

I’d like to hear about the project, and how much you’ve planned, before I work on it. So be detailed, if possible! It’ll help me plan how the music will fit.

It helps if you give a little info about the project, in terms of planning!

Topic: Collaborations / .Elementa: Project Reality - Game Concept

In terms of concept art, that’s my weakest point: I can’t draw worth diddly-squat. Wish I could, it would help get some ideas across better. :/
As for control-systems, I do need to flesh out the probe stage a bit more. That one’s been the hardest to work out, and I’m still trying to figure out the best way to make it happen. I’ll see what I can do there.
Some of the game mechanics may be a bit complicated: the charging pyramid, for example, can probably be tossed. It worked in theory, but it may be simpler to have the charges added randomly. Everything else would simply take a bit to get used to: the attack/defense system is unorthodox, but grounded in classic card games (think old Star Wars TCG). And the upgrade system is rather necessary, in order to survive. The mechanics wouldn’t necessarily need to be bared completely to the player; they’re just counting on the upgrades having a visible effect.
Thanks for the tips. I’ll see what I can do to patch this up.

Game Design Documents (.zip)

This is an idea I’ve had bubbling in my head for quite some time. These documents are slightly outdated, but they get across the basic idea.

This would be one in a three (or maybe four) part series. The second would deal with the aftermath of Project Reality, placed on the internetwork of the patch servers. The third would take place many years in the future, where Elemancers use their power in the physical world through a massive nanobot cloud, Smog. All three focus on the ElemenTech company’s affect on the world; they all have the same basic elemental systems, with each element having an advantage against an element in the same group (physical and ethereal), and a balancing element in the opposite group. However, the game mechanics for each would be very different.

Thoughts, comments? Anyone who’d want to try helping take this on?
