Wasn’t there a blockade up?

Yes, an illegal one. You cannot blockade international waters.

Accordings to the latest UN resolutions, the whole blockade is illegal anyway. No matter if it’s in open waters or not.

In the specific case of an attack on open waters, it’s only legal if:

1. the country is at war, and

2. the controlled ships are either under neutral or enemies flag. Turkey, Greece and the others, are all NATO members – Israels allies. Thus, they had absolutely no right to enter the ships. And bringing them to Ashdod was clearly an act of piracy.

It’s a worst case scenario for both sides, but you can’t really blame the soldiers. This unit was trained to commit lethal assaults. The government is to blame, they were fully aware that their assault wasn’t legal.

And do you think spamming the word FACT several times means what you say must be true? Grow up you plank.

If you’re playing “perfect” and still need luck to win HALF of your games, your tactics probably suck.

One example: With a good deck, your could play thousands of matches in single player mode, and win a vast majority.

In this case, the small percentage of kongbots victories is nothing but luck. If you’re playing against low ranking players, you’ll still win a lot, but not as easy as defeating the kongbot. And the percentage will decrease when playing against skilled players.
Due to your argument, the luck factor would increase when you’re playing against high ranks.
This will not happen. Your logic fails.

Therefore, you should consider the chance you might be not as awesome as you thought ;-)

Lise Meitner.

Meitner and Otto Hahn discovered and proved the existance of nuclear fission.

Till then, most scientists thought atoms would just become heavier when exposed to neutrons, turning into transuranium elements.

This discovery allowed the use of nuclear energy and weapons, finally leading to the cold war era.

Leopard is a german main battle tank. In fact, Abrams and Leopard were a collaborative project, that’s why the Abrams still features a german Rheinmetall cannon.

Merkava, for example?

America certainly has the biggest (and most expensive) army, with more aircraft carriers than any other nation. But the best?

Russia, for instance, is years ahead in rocket and torpedo technology (supercavitation; S-400 Triumf).

The bunker:

It’s quite hard to remove a single tile…and probably impossible to attack the king.

- Morphallactic regeneration (like hydra vulgaris). When you cut a hydra in up to 100 pieces, they’ll recombine or form new “clones”. This makes a hydra nearly immortal.

- Nematode skin: The cuticula of nematodes is very resistant under most conditions, and resists acids.

- Saxitoxin defense: STX will kill most foes within seconds.

- Crocodile immune system

-ability to form endospores. Some spores, like Anthrax, will survive under extreme conditions, probably thousands of years.

Well, that’s it. Pretty much invincible.

Math is just a way of interpretation.

An atom containing 12 protons will always be carbon, with all characteristics of this element, not because math dictates it has to be carbon due to its 12 protons, but physics do.

Sending them back? Depends. You can’t tolerate illegal immigration when the economy requires cheap workers and throw them away afterwards.

So what? Russia is no longer interested in bringing revolution to the world. The can still nuke any place of the earth at any time, and ripped Saakashvilis troops apart with ease when he tried to take over South Ossetia.
It is obvious Russia doesn’t need the submarine fleet yet, so why should the keep the Akula class in commission?

Topic: Serious Discussion / 10 questions that every intelligent Christian must answer

Are you serious arguing that the Bible is, like, wrong?

If so, why follow the God depicted in it?

The bible? Telling us there’s a benevolent, almighty being which appreciates slavery and genocide? Yeah, I think that’s pretty much wrong, contradictory, and certainly not “words of god”. It’s man-made, full of propaganda and ridiculous ethics.

That doesn’t disqualify the believe in an almighty being, prophets or saviors. But taking a religious manifest literally is no necessity of being religious.
Believe in god? Well, as I indicated, it’s doesn’t matter if you’re a member of monotheism, pantheism, or believe in the laws of quantum physics.

But it does actually make sense to believe in purpose. Not necessarily purpose of life, but purpose of existance.

Topic: Serious Discussion / 10 questions that every intelligent Christian must answer

1: Why won’t God heal amputees?
Because god is no puppeteer? If you’re only religious ‘cause you hope someone is going to fix all your problems, you’re a hypocrit.

2: Why are there so many starving people in our world?
Again, god is no puppeteer. Got it?

3: Why does God demand the death of so many innocent people in the Bible?
Oh, did he? Or did a bunch of uncivilised morons who wrote the old testament do this?

4: Why does the bible contain so much anti-scientific nonsense?
Again: Don’t blame god, blame those who claim to bring you the “word of god”. Or word of Jahwe. Allah. Flying Spaghetti-monster. Whatever.

5: Why is God such a huge proponent of slavery in the Bible?
Again: Don’t blame the protagonist, blame the author.

6: Why do bad things happen to good people?
Puppeteer again. You’re starting to bore me.

7: Why didn’t any of Jesus’ miracles in the Bible leave any evidence?

1. Because it happened 2000 years ago?
2. Define miracle. Did Mahatma Gandhi work wonders in liberating India? So, was he some kind of sorcerer or saint, or just an inspiring leader?

8: How do we explain the fact that Jesus has never appeared to you?

My lack of drug use?

9: Why would Jesus want you to eat his body and drink his blood?
Metaphors, did you get it?

10: Why do Christians get divorced at the same rate as non-Christians?
’Cause they are no fundamentalists who would do anything a 2000 year old book tells them?

So, you accepted the fact there might be no god. Fine.

Then why do you still whine about how evil the world is, instead of fixing it on your own? Hypocrisy?

It’s no problem not to be atheist. But you got a problem if you believe in absolutely nothing.

Well, actually some mammals went back into the Ocean, like the Pakicetidae, later evolving into whales. Some early hominides might have spend most of their foraging with fishing.

For any probability greater than zero, you can be sure it will occur if the limit superior is long enough. That disproves axiom and conclusion. There’s no necessity for a creator to onstruct complex molecules.

Originally posted by Jabor:

Is the greatest general the one with the biggest armies, then?

No. Napoleon often won against all odds. Great numbers are useful, but not decisive.

Another example is Admiral Reinhard Scheer (German Imperial Navy) during the battle of Jutland.
Outnumbered by the British fleet, he was exposed to two crossing-the-T attacks (which would have been decisive), but started a formerly unknown evasive maneuver, rendering Jellicoes attacks useless.

@ Amner: I think Wellington was way too defensive. He had the chance to support Somersets cavalry charge with more troops and attack Napoleons artillery, but preferred to reserve the infantry.

It’s science fiction yet, but it’s absolutely possible that something like the Garden worm might exist in the future, growing algae inside its body, feeding on sunlight.
