Topic: Epic War Saga / Suggestion and Ideas

I’m reposting my topic here, so artlogic can see it =)

There is a problem that since Epic War 4 affects the gameplay, bringing injuries to the players and the developer. It is called obsolescence. In the course of the game, certain units and/or spells become obsolete, that is, fall into disuse, get outdated.

I brought a solution that does not totally reduce this aspect that the game has, but, significantly, may alleviate the problem. I present to you the Special Formation!

It’s very simple. It consists of a bonus that applies to your hero and units because of the special formation made by the selected units.
The bonus applies if and only if the formation is complete (7 units) and all units meet the conditions.

Examples:
- There is a bonus if all units in the formation are WATER element: Water + (M) / + 300 Defense;
- If the units are part of the old-schoolish EW3 (Succubus, Mermaid, Witch, Goblin, Dwarf Engineer, Phantom Knight, Dark Knight, Yeti, War Tank, Dragon Rider, Centaur Archer, Mad Bull or Thunder Crystal), bonus: Units + (S) / Gold + (L) / + 150 HP/ATK/DEF.

This statement was also apparently pulled from where the sun doesn’t shine, though your head appears to remain firmly lodged in there.

Epic Vampires don’t care if it’s sunny or not. Despite how much you want them to, they also do not sparkle.
Valkyries select from water elementally aligned fighters – Clearly most epic humanoid races at very least can have variable elemental alignments. Being aligned with a particular element is a perfectly natural thing in the Epicverse.
Minotaurs being linked to the raging, rampaging element of fire actually makes perfect sense.
Storms are not caused by ethereal embodiments of death. They’re caused by Popo jumping two continents away. Every time Popo jumps, a storm drowns a kitten.

Whilst I’m at it, the divine being associated with the sky and thunder hearkens strongly towards the old style of lightning bolt throwing borderline malevolent overgod, such as the Zeus inspired Old Testament Jahweh.
Fire being affiliated with the diabolical is perfectly legit, without requiring it to be distinct from dragons, desert dwelling marauders, or the clones of fire affiliated dinosaur riding human heroes.
Water being simultaneously affiliated with the dark (Mystics, Reapers and Totems are pretty shady, bordering on outright necromantic) is perfectly in keeping with the element’s affiliation with negative traits.
Energy also being associated with Frankensteinian abominations such as blood sucking fiends, gimp masked beasts, shadowy warriors channelling malevolent divine power through their attacks or their holier aligned counterparts doing the same? Not a problem.
Earth, meanwhile, is the most tangible, material element with the least “mystical” entries; no mages at all, and the most “mystical” aspects are animated stone golems and poison breathing monsters.

The elements fit fine, now stop trying to excrete your nonsense everywhere.

This is getting ridiculous. What’s your problem, dud?
As I said this topic opened for discussing, but you’re not discussing. There is a clear difference between irony and jokes.
I do not understand why can not clearly discuss how omegarepaer7 and deathmasta. If you like, express! Dislike it? Counters with a different alternative, or use arguments to show that you are against this idea and why would not apply.
I opened this topic to discuss the issue that certain units in the game do not match its elements. Especially yesterday, that Death was defined as a unit of the Water element, which goes beyond the ridiculous.
But no, you have to come with his speech by saying that the sun does not shine here. The sun shines for everyone. Just can not see who does not want.

Oh yes, I’m fully aware of their existence in certain game systems (though the bible spends more time talking about breasts than it does about “Holy/Dark” magic), I just think people are pulling ideas for extra elements from where the sun doesn’t shine.

It also seems that the bulls, who see only black, white and red, are chasing the fire, because it is red. Oh my gosh, I didn’t know storms are caused by ghosts. Jeez, how did I not see that?

I don’t know why the f*ck mastering missions are so difficult. 30 battles. :‘( I’m just mastering the boss of the first chapter to get the achievement and gain 20000 gold…. And about mermaids… BRING THEM BACK. They are so sexy and strong.

Oh yes, the hottest girl on EW Saga: the Shaman.
I wanted heroes were cheaper.

No, man. Nothing to do on the systems and everything else. I just think for a game in which the last reached a bad reputation, the first thing he should do is to launch a collection, as most have different opinions on the best game. Some say the best was the third; others say it was fourth; others, the second … I think to end this and earn people’s trust, he should mix it up. Thus, it gains more reputation. Then he can launch an MMO that is not premium or freemium, which will make overall success.

In my opinion, there should not be an MMO. At least not yet. First of all, there should be an EW Collection, combining the systems, units and spells of all five games. After that there should be an MMO.

A Harpy would be a great unit. Look what would be awesome:
*A living puppet that shoot chains from his body.
*Moskaubear’s Harpy.
*A titanium Lion with two heads that rush back and jump high and deal double damage.
*A cosmic spirit that works with light rays. He rise to the sky and create a lot of circling light rays on the floor, then shoot them in the form of snakes penetrating through the enemies.
*A guy with two swords not very big, but super stylish. He flies from the castle and flies off towards the enemy castle spinning his swords (not to attack but to defend), and when it reaches the castle, he unloads all of his energy and gives a giant leap going back to the castle.
*Maybe some rotating eyeballs that casts dark spells.
*And other ideas in my head.

Everyone has been nerfed, which makes the trials extra challenging in a bad way. You can no longer complete extra 7+ with a ‘slightly modified from my favorite setup,’ you must use very specific combinations to win, even maxed out. Meanwhile, in 4 you can actually FARM big enemies for gold to finish maxing those Titans. Now the little guys like goblins move so slow you may as well go Taurus/Hell Raider. And then you go and make losing the hero instant death? What the hell man. Overall, everything feels a lot slower and less powerful. And therefore less epic.
And what is up with the slutty naked elves man, the hunters looked better before. This is just crappy WoW-ish design in general. Could have kept the lamias for that, or rework the witches to be the ‘dance around the campfire’ type.
Oh I forgot to mention, the phantom/vampire. I say these are equally good, artwise, but it sucks to have another unit that just plain falls over when killed. Killing a group of phantoms to watch them combust was a real joy, more units along those lines.
Valkyrie to amazon was another failure. New design plain boring, see warriors of troy for interesting amazon designs. Also yet another unit that got a range reduction.
Aside from the minor speed drop not much change to goblin/hobbit/dwarf. Dwarf could use a bit more ‘techy’ gear to justify exploding though.
Knight is good, he really only needs one more +50 attack and some pop.
Wizard nowhere near as good as sylph. Perhaps Sylph should have stayed and wizard uses his attack differently?
Bombers improved in pop, but lack attack power still. Mostly useless.
Magic Cannon, preferred old design, they seem to have lost attack power. Replace those 3 hearts with +50s and then we’ll talk.
Gorilla still works well. Holy cow are the CPU ones overpowered though! Where do I get those? 3 rocks in the face and my hero bought it.
Troll: High health but I found them quite useless. There was always a better unit. Perhaps they should have higher resists + regen.
Taurus: A slight drop in health/power but overall the same. Still a great delay unit.
Hell raider: Good stuff, one of the few that feel like a good addition. The poison cloud spell is kind of useless though.
Black Dragon: One of the few to power up and feel more deadly. Also like that he moves back farther when attacking. The cyberneticish blue dragon felt more unique. I wouldn’t mind keeping both and trashing Diablos.
Celestial Angel: To be fair this is not a bad redesign, but having grown up with Spawn and Chaos and heck even Hawkgirl, it’s…not stupendously original. Preferred the more ethereal and spirit-like angel. The redone attack looks and sounds more powerful, but I need to max her out first.
Those’re all I have so far. With the gameplay complaints out of the way, I will say, vastly improved story. Good work on that, and on making it feel like you have a reason to be going to all these different locales. Also good that we finally have some new music. Those are the two major plusses of EW5. I will post again when I’ve gotten the rest of the units.

Finally someone listened me. Thanks for agreeing. I agree with you too. Certain units become obsolete throughout the game, there being no either the need to exist. I certainly would put a star in my critical if there were DIFFERENT UNITS, and not, REDESIGNED UNITS.
You used a big number of units 3 times consecutively. This is absurd. Look, if you need creativity get help from someone who is not part of the team.
Create units that are different from any others that not leave the line of epicness. I already commented bout the puppet that throws explosives or light bolts. How about a machine hydra? Or a titanium lion with two heads? Or a floating crystal dome with a green eye that shoots lightning rays or lasers? Or perhaps a magician who casts air blades flying around? This is quite different. Try something new
Make the difference.

I only say one thing: for me, it deserves 3 / 5 stars.

Centaur unit was redone this series so thats invalid and hobbits have been out of the series for awhile. That leaves a total of 4 units staying the same with a dozen new ones. Seems like he still has ideas to me. I do feel he brings enough fantasy into the game, the story is the best yet with it not being the same for each hero with the names switched around. As to difficulty I suppose that is more opinion as I feel that this one was not unbalanced except on the fragility of the hero which you could work around. I do not disrespect I merely seek to find reasoning for criticism. I only gave this a 4/5 myself.

Rudy had much time to make this game, and unlike some here, I would wait until the end of the year if necessary. It can launch in October, November, December or in 2012. For me, it makes no difference because he is working. And in my opinion, certain things were done in a hurry.
He could bring something new, as units of a spiritual world with different attacks and surreal designs, which perhaps could impress us. Imagine a living puppet, without being controlled by anyone, who has explosive launchers or bombs of light that can destroy buildings easily. It is something quite different.
And if you’re insinuating that I am the owner of the truth, know that I am not and I am not trying to be. But you? You want to be the owner of the reason. But nobody is. Do not argue with reason. Argue with wisdom. I made that critical as far as I saw it was necessary. I criticized in my arguments, because I was not talking about what was right, because I do not know what is right. but something I’m sure: You can not be disrespecting me, but you are being someone else. But if you not being, so I’m very sorry for you.

lol get a life its only a flash game rudy and his mates spent a weekend putting together in a shed. The units haven’t changed much but at least they have been changed a bit and a couple of new units have been added too. there are many many games for consoles which have exceeded 5 titles and usually most of the monsters, characters and other stuff is the same otherwise it shouldnt be in the same series

Get a life you. Respect others, man. Didn’t like my opinion, it is your problem. And if Rudy did not like too, it’s his problem. This is a constructive criticism. I’m not erasing his image of developer. If you see in the world, criticism is at all. It is for the owner to know how to handle it. And that criticism was directed at Rudy. If he liked it, good for him and for me too. If you continue with this lack of civility … I will not finish this sentence, because at least I’m civilized.

Now …

Item 4: Evolution. Deserves my star? No. The game lacked a lot of creativity. I saw nothing innovative in relation to others. The strategic concept is the same the last two games. Lacked novelty, lacked relativity to fantasy games and lacked originality as a result expected. Disappointed me.

Item 5: Associated category, justice and generalization. Deserves my star? No. The game is unfair to both sides. Tell me an advantage on the battlefield, so I use as my enemy uses? I do spells, the enemy does not. The enemy has new units soon, I do not. I create units in real time, the enemy does not. The enemy has no fog, I have. Probably, the only one that exists is regeneration. I do not see “the original costume” in units. I already have seen liches, angels, dwarves, centaurs, minotaurs, elves, hobbits, goblins, golems, demons, finally. I saw in other places. For a game as old as this, we should expect something new.

Anyway, my opinion is. It was a good game, but it was not the best, and, unfortunately, disappointed in some parts. Will have to improve. A lot. In the next. That is, if there is next. I hope you read this.

Ok Rudy. Let’s start my criticism to the game (i’m very critical)? Yes, let’s.
Games like Flash, 5 stars. Evaluation criteria that will use: 5 items. I will use a star for each item. Let’s start.

Item 1: Graphic and Art. Deserves my star? Look. I do not know whether to give this star to you, but I will not be rude. You deserve this one, but look.
The plot was well done, well done with details, unlike other EWs. I did not like: the main menu, map and certain units. Poor art, no creativity.Next…

Item 2: Performance, speed. Deserves my star? Deserves. There was a large reduction of lag in the middle of battles, special effects do not disturb, or units not stop shaking. Deserves this.

Item 3: Resourcefulness, concept and story. Deserves my star? Deserves. I saw something different in EW that made it interesting. It was the difference between the games. The differences between EW4 and EW3 were minimal. This is not here. Concept upgrade different, unitary concept, history is not very focused, but it was well placed. Difficulty well spread, finally. I only didn’t found it interesting in reduce the number of heroes, magic dependent concept and the concept of certain units to act, do not obey.

I knew you would say no. The file size probably exceeds 30 mb causing the game to get mega heavy. But maybe you can try to make a downloadable version, but you do not stop working with flash games, but just to see how their impact would be.
