[kinne] Found the reason for daily bonus reset glitch. Just letting you know that if you keep the window open for a few days, you don’t get daily bonuses.

[Tukkun] The problem is known to possibly happen due to low FPS, or game not running at intended speed.

Yes, I think you’re both right. It happened to me today again.
I noticed that the FPS was very low. This (the low FPS) seems to happen every
time I leave the game running for a few days. Anybody’s guess as to why
- it could be a common deterioration problem like memory fragmentation, or some dumb thing
like a Flash update check that goes haywire. Or an actual bug in the game (e.g. a memory leak.)

Re: Daily bonus streak broken when it shouldn’t be
[Draconi] > Please read this post.

Ok, that was enlightening but it doesn’t immediately answer my question.
My machine is set to never sleep.

I just saw it today again, in a different way: I opened AI for the first time today
(it had been running for many days),
played for a while, but saw no daily bonus prompt.
Then I saved, quit, loaded, and immediately got my daily bonus (with streak intact).

Regarding the condition Draconi mentioned (“session time must match how many times you got daily bonus”): It seems like this is more likely to cause problems for honest
players than for cheaters. At the very least it should allow for some downtime per day – e.g. for Windows’ “Patch Tuesday”.

Daily bonus streak broken when it shouldn’t be

Obviously this is hard to experiment with since the daily
bonus only happens once a day. But it has happened enough now that I think I'm seeing a real bug.

It seems as if the daily bonus streak calculation is off - e.g. maybe it is using the wrong time zone to decide what a 'day' is. The Date & Time in the bottom left corner IS showing my correct local time, so I suspect the daily bonus logic is mistakenly using some other time zone. (Or it could be another problem, e.g. maybe it's implementing the rule 'time since last play < 24 hours').

Anyway, the upshot is that I can play every day but still lose my daily streak.
My streak was >20 before it got reset the first time, and that time I'm pretty sure I had played the previous day but it was late at night (probably >10pm) and the previous day I had played much earlier in the day.

Thanks bbiernat – that fixes it for me!
I thought I’d tried adding kongregate to trusted sites, but I guess not.

Weird bug…

I tried Google Chrome, and that fixes it.
So, I only have the key-sticking problem with IE.

I’m not sure if that means IE8 is the problem – it could instead be a difference between the ActiveX and other-browser versions of Flash. Same version number in both cases – 10.0.22.87.

Btw my machine is a desktop, not a laptop.

I have the same problem – on Learn To Fly and on Shift 4. Shift 4 is unplayable like this.

One time, I noticed that the right arrow key was “stuck down” when Shift 4 started – i.e. it’s some state outside the game code that doesn’t get cleared on refresh.

I’m running IE8 on Windows 7 RC, 64-bit. This is on a new, beefy machine.
I’ve tried the “/frame/1” url, same problem.
