Jimmy send an email to support@kongregate.com.

You can request a name change but they will need a good reason as
to why. The reason is because they get a ton of name change requests
so they needed to set some parameters before granting them.

So try that. You never know.

As a few others have said, sometimes what you’re witnessing isn’t
the entire story. The mod may be in contact with the person via
whispers to try and keep the peace and keep that guy from flipping out
further, and a big part of what many of us do is to try and get that person
to be a chat lover and not a hater and that takes time.

Also, troll to me is a verb not a noun. Its something people, kids, do when
they are bored or looking to spark some action or break the ice in a room and there are
many ways to get people to chill and one of those ways is by talking to
them. Involving them in conversation and maybe some joking around. Thats something
we can all do.

I know it may frustrate you a bit at the time but try to remember that everyone
here is a person behind a keyboard and many of us do the best we can in
the situation we find ourselves in. Sometimes its a hit and sometimes its a
miss but thats a condition of being human.

As for niceness, thats probably true. We aren’t here to “punish” or track down
bad guys or deliver someones version of holy righteous justice, but we are here to help a room stay as
peaceful as possible and maybe try to make it fun as well. No one wants
to come to a site where there is a strict “military” presence, and the admins
especially don’t want their users to have to walk on eggshells when this place
is meant to be fun and a retreat from the daily stress of life.
That goes for everyone including the people you might not like.

You have options though, such as muting, reporting (users and mods, they do read them),
and speaking to an admin directly at support@kongregate.com, (they do read them), if you feel
things are bothering you. You are their feedback. You also have the option of not looking
at chat and using the game tab.

Intelligence? Well it takes all kinds to make a world and I’d guess you have to
walk in someones shoes before you can judge them but thats just my take on it.

Equality? No one can equal the userbase here. Without you there would be no Kong. :)

Captain, these are very valid points. Thanks for the nicely worded post.

Regarding the silences, users are asked, and then given many warnings before being
silenced, i.e. “Bob please stop spamming.” “Bob, youre spamming again please stop.”
“Bob, this is a warning to stop spamming.” etcetc.
(Bob is really a nice guy he’s just bored. ;) )

So technically the person being silenced is well aware of why its happened.
Also when someone is silenced, their chat screen displays a "You have been silenced
for ______ " message.

As for forum posts being edited by forum mods, I actually would like to see the post deleted
altogether rather than just multiple posts of “Deleted by a mod…etc”. It begins to look
like spam itself, To me anyway…and I also think some users are mimicing that to be funny.

But yes deleting the post which then triggers a whisper or something on the account as to
why it happened would be good.

I don’t think the mods are hiding, its just quicker to do this way. Also the community doesn’t
need to know why a post was deleted (especially if it was vulgar or something), but the individual
who posted it should be made aware of why, because contrary to popular thought there are
some people who simply don’t understand that they were breaking a rule.

I understand its frustrating and you do have a well worded post here, and a valid point.
Yes it is volunteer and we are human. We take breaks and go afk. Some of us mod from
work as well so we do ask for your patience at times.

One thing you may or may not know is that you also can mute anyone
who is disturbing your chat. Encouraging others that youre talking to,
to also mute the offender until a mod becomes aware of it will make life
quite a bit more sane in the chat room. Its like they arent even there. :)

I know that sometimes people dont like to mute but muting versus watching
chaos is sometimes a fair trade off.

You can mute a user by hovering over their username in the chat list and clicking “Mute”.

Its up to all of us to do what we can to make it peaceful until help arrives. I hope your chat
experience gets better RA. :)

I can’t stop laughing!

To those who are all on the “Kong is crap!” defensive, just realize there
are two sides to every story and from my experience nothing is ever done
here without intense consideration. One thing I can tell you that is a fact, is that
the admins first and foremost concern are their users. The users are all they talk about. :)

If money was their concern we’d be playing to play wouldn’t we…

It’s all about us and what keeps us, as users, happy here. So while you may not
agree with everything you see, just know that there are a ton of good reasons
stuff happens.

undeniable proof without a doubt, (bragging on another site
isn’t really proof!), so we need to make sure we don’t stray into
user harassment territory which threads like these kind of do.

Keep using the reporting system. Keeping letting admin know what
you find. Trust that they are reviewing what you tell them, trust
that they do care about your experience here and know that
they do act when and where they can justifiably do so.

..and cheer up! High scores arent all that! You are not your freakin

for you guys to have a huge amount of fun earning and sure
he can’t please everyone, but think of it in the way that, if
you’re not happy, 100 other people are, and when you are happy,
100 people aren’t. So the guy can’t win no matter what he does,
the least you can do is cut a bit of slack and walk a mile in his shoes
geez! No complaining during Greg month! rawrfffft!
